  • Software Engineer

    The Role: The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of PLC software and supporting applications (windows based) on existing Liebherr Container Crane product. This will involve integration of crane control systems with third-party equipment, instrumentation, and terminal operating systems. Person Profile: We are looking for a Software Engineer specialising in Control Systems to join our rapidly expanding software and control systems team. Our team is responsible for developing a broad range of software solutions for Liebherr Container Crane product. Our control system is vertically integrated, so all successful candidates have broad opportunities to develop software solutions for user interaction, hardware & device interfacing, crane control, drive and motion, sensor fusion, and data science & analytics; to administer and maintain our products and services. Key Elements of the Role: Develop and integrate software solutions for crane control systems on Liebherr Container Crane product Develop software elements within a software development life cycle Liaise with mechanical, electrical, and other design disciplines to design and develop software elements of the crane control systems Liaise with Testing, Commissioning and Service departments to ensure a successful project launch Support sales department on project tenders, technical issues, and training. Analyse client's problems or requirements as presented by the sales team. Identify and evaluate potential technical solutions. Qualifications, Requirements and Experience The ideal candidate has qualified in a relevant engineering discipline and has excellent knowledge of PLC automation and SCADA systems with working knowledge of .Net software development. You are highly motivated, dependable, and thorough and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously. You are confident and can challenge the status quo, adapting to new technologies or techniques easily. You possess excellent planning, scheduling and organisational skills and can manage and deliver projects to challenging deadlines. You must have excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to build, manage and maintain relationships at all levels. You are a natural problem solver, with the ability to deliver solutions and results. Min Level 7 degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline Experience with full life cycle (design, development, deployment & support) of large-scale control systems utilizing ABB PLC programming (i.e., ABB Automation builder) or equivalent PLC platform Software development lifecycle experience – design and code reviews, version control, issue tracking systems (i.e., Jira) and use of Confluence or similar wiki system Programming knowledge and experience of Safety and Non-safety PLC systems using Codesys. Previous experience working with PLC/DCS systems in an object orientated fashion. Previous experience with scripting languages. Previous experience with PLC bus systems (Profinet/Profibus/CAN bus/Modbus etc.) Risk analysis and safety compliance related to the PLC control and understanding of Performance Levels (PLr / SIL).   • Commissioning Engineer  

    - Killarney

    The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects associated with the Commissioning of products manufactured by Liebherr Container Cranes. The cranes manufactured have high capital value and include electrical equipment for H.V distribution, PLC’s, controller drives and IT technology. This challenging role will require a self-motivated individual with knowledge and ability across the full spectrum of Electrical and Electronic engineering disciplines. Selected candidates can expect an attractive remuneration package commensurate with experience. This role will require regular travel overseas. Key elements of the Role Responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to the following: Acting as company representative when on site as a member or lead of the site/commissioning team. Liaise with design, production, service and Installation departments. Commissioning of cranes in-house and after installation on site. Commissioning, testing and handover of the equipment.     The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a team of PLC Software developers working on crane upgrades, customer service issues, and crane projects across the project lifecycle. Project teams are composed of PLC software developers, electrical designers, and automation engineers. The Project Manager will be responsible for: Scheduling PLC Software team workload management across projects, PR Jobs, and technical support for field issues. Manage project schedules in conjunction with internal departments, external suppliers and provide clear overview of resource allocation and project status.
