  • Post: Senior Instructor Contract: Specified Purpose, Part-Time (19.5 hrs per week - cover leave) Location: Killarney Day Service Roster: Wk 1: Thurs 08:45 - 17:00 / Fri: 08:30 - 17:00 Wk 2: Wed: 09:00 - 17:00 / Thurs: 08:45 - 17:00 / Fri: 08:30 - 17:00 *Rosters may be subject to change due to the operational requirements of the service* The Role: The core activities for the post of Senior Instructor will be to enable the people we support realise their goals and achieve their identified priorities. The successful candidate will provide support and act as an advocate for participation and inclusion in the Community on behalf of the person we support. The successful candidate will operate within a framework of a person-centered approach and will actively engage with and promote cooperation and partnership with other services, both internally and externally, particularly with families. In addition to supporting adults with an intellectual disability, this role may include bus escort duties. The successful candidate will be required to complete all relevant reports and training. They will incorporate and implement New Directions in line with National standards for day services. The Senior Instructor, in this supervisory role, will provide physical support which may include personal care, emotional support for individuals and their families, supporting health care needs, and teaching life skills while working with other healthcare providers to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards. This role may involve transporting the person we support to and from their home to their day service. Essential Criteria: Applicants should possess a relevant 3rd level qualification. (Minimum Level 7 Degree). A minimum of three years’ experience supporting adults with an intellectual disability post-qualification. Experience of working in a care delivery capacity, preferably within a disability service. A full driver’s license with access to a car insured for business purposes is desirable. Where applicable, applicants must hold a valid Irish work permit.   • Post: Support Worker Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (23.3 hrs per week) Location: Kilcummin Residential Service Roster: 10pm to 8am Night Duty Wk 1: Wed/Thurs, Wk 2: Mon/Tues, Fri, Wk 3: Sat/Sun *Rosters may be subject to change due to the operational requirements of the service* The Role: The core activities for the post of Support Worker will include planning and setting goals with the person to assist them in meeting their personal, social, recreational, academic, independent living, community integration, training and supported employment needs. As a Support Worker, you will enable the people we support to realise their goals and achieve their identified priorities. You will also provide support and act as an advocate for participation and inclusion in the community on behalf of the person we support. The Support Worker operates within the framework of a person-centered approach and actively engages with and promotes co-operation and partnership with other services, both internally and externally, and in particular with families. Essential Criteria: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support. Equivalent qualifications to Healthcare Support will be considered, with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience working with adults with an intellectual disability. Applications will also be considered from candidates who have successfully completed at least 1 year of their Nursing or Social Care Degree. Experience of working in a care delivery capacity, preferably within a disability service. A full driver’s licence with access to a car insured for business purposes is desirable.
