  • Pay: €50,000.00-€55,000.00 per year Job Description: Kenect are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled and proactiveMaintenance Technician to join their operations team in Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. The Details Salary: €50,000 €55,000 per annum. Status: Full-Time, Permanent. Hours: 7:30 am or 8:00 am start, finishing at 4:30 pm or 5:00 pm. Overtime: Overtime or time in lieu is provided if called to assist with breakdowns. Locations: Lurganmore and Lough Egish, Castleblayney. The Role The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the efficient operation, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to ensure minimal downtime and maximum productivity. You will work closely with the production team to meet operational targets while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Key Duties: Preventative Maintenance: Perform planned routines to extend equipment life and ensure smooth plant operations. Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues on PLC-controlled systems, packaging equipment, and pneumatic/hydraulic components. Operational Support: Monitor production lines, intervene immediately when performance drops, and assist with breakdown recovery using technical manuals. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance data and equipment logs. Training: Provide mentoring and coaching to apprentices. Person Specification Knowledge & Experience: 35 years of hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Experience with high-speed production lines, conveyors, and automated systems. Proficiency in troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and interpreting technical drawings/schematics. Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic computer maintenance management systems (CMMS). Education & Certifications: Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent). Apprenticeship certification in a relevant trade is a distinct advantage. Health & Safety certifications (Manual Handling, Electrical Safety, etc.). Essential Skills: Fluent English and excellent communication skills. Full Driving Licence.
