  • Senior Speech & Language Therapist – Young Adults Disability Team Permanent Contract – 35 hours per week Location: Johnstown Co. Kildare Salary Scale: €64,551 – €76,007 per year The Young Adults team is an inter‑disciplinary clinical team that provides clinical supports to young adults with complex disability needs aged 18‑26. The team’s current base is in Johnstown Village, Co. Kildare with the opportunity for remote working one day a week. The role offers an opportunity to work across a variety of day services and organisations within the catchment area of Dublin, South Kildare and West Wicklow, supporting individuals in their day service, home or in the community. Responsibilities Manage and prioritise own caseload within the overall service. Provide a range of Speech & Language services such as assessments and interventions to adults with complex needs. Participate in relevant clinical and team meetings as directed by the manager. Apply clinical reasoning to plan, grade, implement and modify outcome‑based interventions relevant to the person's goals. Facilitate individual assessment, recommendations, reviews and education sessions with parents or other support staff. Contribute to the learning and education of others and support staff to identify future learning needs and development goals. Contribute to the ongoing development of the service, including participation in evaluation of service delivery and research initiatives. Collaborate with other inter‑disciplinary team members in planning and delivery of clinical services. Develop caseload management procedures, including prioritisation of cases and managing reviews. Travel between Kerry locations as required. Qualifications Hold a relevant Speech & Language Therapy qualification. Have 3 or more years post‑qualification full‑time clinical experience. Be currently registered with CORU. Experience working with children/young adults with complex disability needs. Experience supporting FEDS assessment and intervention plans. Demonstrate a level of clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning skills and evidence‑based practice appropriate to carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the role in line with relevant legislation and standards. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate in partnership with others. Demonstrate the ability to lead on planning, organising and delivering services efficiently, effectively and resourcefully, within a model of person‑centred care.
