HSE Nurse Salary Scales (as Relevant To Experience)
The successful candidates will have experience working with people with complex nursing needs and people who may exhibit behaviours that challenge, while also being involved with Person Centred Planning. As part of the team at Kare, you will focus on community inclusion and communicating with families. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and demonstrate an understanding of contemporary approaches to positive behavioural support and the principles of community inclusion.
Responsibilities
Play an active role in the completion of the Assessment of Need for individuals
Play an integral role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a person's Individual Support Plan
Plan & assess individuals' health care needs and support non-nursing staff to follow health care support plans
Support individuals to enhance their life by following their Individual Support Plan in a wide variety of life areas - achieving goals and objectives, Personal Care, Work & Leisure, Lifelong Learning, community inclusion, etc
Maintain effective communication with the team, families and an individual's support network
Maintain all necessary records in accordance with Kare's policies
Deliver training to staff teams where required
Travel between Kare locations for the purpose of meetings, training, etc, as required
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
Monitor patient progress and report any changes as required
Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Requirements
Qualification: A recognised validated university degree or equivalent qualification in Intellectual Disability Nursing, General Nursing, or Paediatric Nursing
Experience working with challenging behaviour particularly with people who have an intellectual disability
Experience of working with adults and children, preferably in an intellectual disability setting
Must have a full, manual driver's licence
Must provide proof of current NMBI registration OR proof of eligibility to register
Must be eligible to work in Ireland without sponsorship
