  • Commissioning Editor for Comedy (Video)

    RTÉ is seeking a Commissioning Editor for Comedy (Video) to lead the commissioning and delivery of comedy content across its linear and on-demand platforms. This full-time, fixed-term role for three years is based in Dublin or Cork. Reporting to the Director of Video, the successful candidate will manage RTÉ’s comedy slate, support the development of new formats, and work with both emerging and established creative talent. The position is open to mid-career and established writers residing in the Republic of Ireland, with a proven publishing record in prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction, or children’s literature. The role involves engagement with students and staff at Maynooth University from January to June 2025, including teaching and public events, with a maximum commitment of four hours per week. From July 2025, the writer will focus solely on their own practice.   • Invitation to Tender: Development of a Strategic Plan, 2025–2028 – Triskel Arts Centre Triskel Arts Centre seeks proposals from suitably experienced consultants to facilitate the development of its Strategic Plan 2025–2028 and Implementation Plan. Triskel Arts Centre in Cork city will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2028. This Strategic Plan offers a unique chance to reflect on, and shape the future of, Triskel and its role in the artistic, cultural, and community life of the city and region. Objective Through this strategic planning process, Triskel seeks to: Renew its vision and mission: Align goals with the evolving needs of the artistic community and audiences. Strengthen partnerships: Foster collaborations that enhance its role as a regional and national cultural leader. Enhance impact: Develop strategies that empower artists, engage diverse audiences, and contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of Cork. Celebrate legacy: Honour its history while innovating for the future, ensuring Triskel remains a cornerstone of Cork’s cultural life. Triskel seeks to appoint a consultant with demonstrated experience of developing strategic plans for organisations delivering arts and cultural programmes, and engaging with a range of partners, stakeholders, and funders. A consultant or team of consultants is sought who can demonstrate an appreciation of Triskel’s mission, history, and mandate, understand the constraints of operating in a complex environment and managing various relationships, and possess knowledge of the arts landscape in which Triskel operates locally, nationally, and internationally. The response to the tender should include the following: Demonstration of track record of strategic planning in the arts and culture sector, including a setting out of experience and previous work in the area. Demonstration of an understanding of the requirements of the process. Outline timeline and plan for the delivery of the project. Breakdown of costs showing number of days required; if more than one person is involved in the project; cost per day, and all additional costs. Evidence of tax clearance and appropriate professional insurance. Consultants may be required to present the draft Strategic Plan to key audiences. Timeframe for development of Strategic Plan It is anticipated that the process of development of the Strategic Plan will take place from July to November 2024, including the Implementation Plan.   • Creative Production Supports 2025/26

    The Arts Council is accepting applications for the Creative Production Supports (CPS) Scheme 2025/26. The scheme aims to increase the number of creative producers in the arts sector, develop their skills, and connect them with artists across various disciplines, including music, dance, film, theatre, literature, and more. Eligible applicants include individuals and organisations, with the option for collaborative applications. The maximum funding available is €480,000. The application deadline is 17:30 on Thursday, 5 December 2024, and submissions must be made through the Arts Council’s Online Services.   • Irish National Opera Orchestra Open Auditions The Irish National Opera Orchestra is seeking to recruit orchestral musicians to join the pool of freelance musicians from which individuals are engaged on a project-by-project basis. As Ireland's national opera company, INO produces high-quality, accessible opera in venues throughout Ireland and overseas. The INO Orchestra performs in most of Irish National Opera’s productions and is made up of leading Irish freelance musicians who have a broad range of experience playing in operatic, symphonic, chamber and new music repertoire. The orchestra’s work currently includes three or four mainscale productions each season, in addition to concert performances. Musicians who perform with the INO Orchestra are also engaged to perform in chamber ensembles for our diverse programme of touring and education projects. AUDITION REQUIREMENTS Auditions are open to all suitably-qualified string, wind, brass and percussion players. Musicians who already perform regularly with the INO Orchestra do not need to audition. Candidates will be required to perform excerpts from two contrasting core solo works for their instrument along with orchestral excerpts. Full details will be sent after the closing date to candidates who have been shortlisted for audition. Shortlisted candidates will audition for an INO panel with no screen. Please note there will be no accompanist provided or required on the day. It is recommended that Flute, Oboe and Clarinet applicants offer excerpts, when possible, on their auxiliary instruments.
