  • Overview Senior Content Technical Delivery Manager – Job Description Location: Irish Film Institute Department: Operations Reports to: Operations Director Role Overview The Senior Content Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of content management, technical delivery, and presentation quality across the cinema screens. This role ensures that all films, trailers, alternative content, and on-screen media are delivered, scheduled, and presented to the highest technical standards. The senior manager leads a team of projection and technical staff, works closely with distributors and internal stakeholders, and ensures the seamless daily operation of both film and digital cinema systems. Key Responsibilities Content Management Delivery Oversee the full lifecycle of digital content ingestion, scheduling, quality control, and removal. Oversee the full lifecycle of film content, scheduling, quality control and removal. Manage receipt and handling of DCPs, KDMs, cinema playlists (CPLs), trailers, ads, and special content packages. Ensure all content is correctly formatted, tested, and ready for playback. Coordinate closely with distributors, marketing teams, other IFI programming departments and event partners to meet content deadlines. Technical Operations Quality Assurance Maintain exceptional presentation standards, ensuring correct audio levels, screen ratios, image alignment, and sound calibration. Supervise and troubleshoot digital and film cinema equipment including projectors, servers, audio processors, automation systems, and satellite receivers. Implement regular quality checks and preventative maintenance schedules. Manage technical response for live and alternative content events (premieres, QAs, festivals, live broadcasts). Leadership Team Management Lead, train, and support operations and projection teams to ensure excellence in operations. Develop and update standard operating procedures for technical and content workflows. Ensure staff remain trained and compliant with health, safety, and equipment-handling policies. Support workforce planning, shift scheduling, and performance evaluations for team members. Roster all staff accordingly to ensure the effective operations of all aspects of content management and presentation. Operational Delivery Coordination Work with the wider operations and programming teams to create accurate show schedules and playlists. Support marketing, events, private hires and programming teams with screen tests, pre-show content, and special setups. Manage technical aspects of private hires, corporate screenings, premieres, and ancillary events. Ensure swift and effective response to technical issues that impact customer experience and potential financial loss. Compliance Reporting Maintain compliance with DCI standards, security protocols, and all distribution/DRM requirements. Monitor and report equipment faults, escalating issues as needed to vendors or operations support. Produce weekly reports on content delivery, technical issues, and equipment performance. Essential Skills / Experience Required Extensive experience in cinema projection or digital cinema technology in a senior or supervisory role. Strong understanding of DCP workflows, KDM management, servers, automation systems, file transfer systems and TMS/LMS systems. Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage operations under pressure. Excellent troubleshooting skills across AV, IT, and digital content systems. Strong organisational and communication skills. Desirable Experience with alternative content (live events, satellite feeds, gaming events, festivals). Knowledge of laser projection, immersive sound formats, and cinema software tools. Technical certifications related to digital cinema equipment or AV technology.
