    Ipsen Ireland is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technologist to join our state-of-the-art facility in Dublin. Specialising in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for our key products, our site offers a modern working environment and the opportunity to contribute to the success of a leading global biopharmaceutical company. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract operating on a 24/5 shift basis (no weekend work – Friday night shift ends early Saturday morning) and includes a 25% shift allowance. Role Overview As a Manufacturing Technologist, you will carry out daily manufacturing operations in line with guidance from the Shift Lead and Area Owner. Your focus will be on meeting productivity, timeliness, and cost targets while upholding GMP and EHS standards. You will play a key role in batch scheduling, documentation, equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with all site procedures. Main Responsibilities Utilize resources efficiently to execute the manufacturing plan and contribute to detailed batch scheduling. Complete all batch-related documentation promptly and accurately. Perform equipment calibration in line with the maintenance schedule. Engage in cross‑training across all manufacturing areas, including Synthesis, Purification, and Cleanrooms. Maintain compliance with EHS and GMP systems and procedures (e.g., Permit to Work Systems, Incident/Accident Investigation). Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferred; minimum requirement is a diploma in a science-related discipline. Ideally, two years of industrial experience with a strong focus on attention to detail, report writing, independent work, organizational skills, and prioritization. Experience with HPLC/UPLC and solid phase peptide synthesis (including purification and lyophilization) is highly desirable. What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will possess experience in maintenance engineering within the pharmaceutical industry. A strong background in upstream and downstream processing, utilities, lyophilization, process abatement systems, HVAC, purified water, clean steam, refrigeration, and liquid waste management/treatment systems. What You’ll Do Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Lead root cause investigations, and technical troubleshooting for equipment and system-related issues, ensuring follow-up actions are completed and learnings implemented. Take ownership of assigned equipment and systems within a GMP‑compliant manufacturing environment. Oversee the daily operational performance of designated equipment and systems. Analyse performance data and trends to proactively identify and address potential issues, optimizing system reliability and efficiency. Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for equipment and processes, and support technicians with preventive maintenance tasks. Proactively plan and implement preventive measures to avoid equipment issues, aligning with manufacturing schedules and resource availability. Lead and contribute to system enhancements, including drafting detailed specifications, engineering documentation, and standard operating procedures. Ensure a comprehensive critical spare parts list is established and that appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
