Health & Safety Manager We are seeking a skilled Health & Safety Manager to shape and embed a robust health and safety culture across our business. The successful candidate will develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive health and safety function from the ground up. Department Group Operations / Health & Safety Reporting To Managing Director Location Group‑wide role covering all sites: Tivoli, Tramore Road, Naas, and Greystones (some travel required). Key Responsibilities Lead the development and implementation of a Group Health & Safety strategy using the ISO 45001 framework. Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with HSE legislation and industry best practices. Act as the organisation's subject‑matter expert on all health, safety and compliance matters. Conduct risk assessments, develop safe systems of work and ensure compliance with legislation and industry best practice. Oversee site‑specific H&S initiatives across all locations. Deliver staff training and toolbox talks on health & safety, manual handling, PPE use, traffic management and more. Monitor and improve site safety relating to vehicle movement, pedestrian safety, storage practices and space management. Conduct regular site inspections and audits, identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken. Investigate and report on accidents, incidents and near‑misses, implementing preventive measures. Maintain and regularly update H&S documentation, including policies, procedures and risk registers. Liaise with external agencies, auditors, insurance companies and regulatory bodies as required. Promote a proactive safety culture by engaging with staff at all levels to drive awareness and accountability. Essential Qualifications and Skills At least 3 years of experience in a similar Health & Safety role, ideally within distribution, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing. Experience in the ISO 45001 management system and its use in H&S auditing. Knowledge of ISO 9001. Relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., Higher Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, IOSH, or equivalent). Proven experience establishing or significantly enhancing a H&S function. Strong understanding of relevant H&S legislation and best practice. Experience in staff training and delivery of H&S inductions and materials. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and health and safety reporting software. Full driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites. Desirable Experience managing H&S across multiple sites. Familiarity with transport safety, vehicle/pedestrian segregation and warehousing environments. First Aid, Fire Safety or Manual Handling Instructor qualifications. Key Competencies Self‑starter with the ability to work autonomously in a stand‑alone role. Excellent communication and influencing skills to engage all levels of staff.
