Job Overview As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and management of complex structural engineering projects. This role requires a high level of expertise in structural design principles, materials, and construction methods, and will involve overseeing junior engineers, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of structural solutions for commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects. Perform detailed structural analysis and calculations for steel, concrete, and other materials. Manage and mentor a team of junior engineers, providing guidance and oversight throughout the design process. Collaborate with architects, project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure effective project delivery. Ensure that all structural designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and safety standards. Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, specifications, and tender documents. Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and ensure that construction work aligns with the design. Provide technical leadership in resolving engineering issues that may arise during project execution. Oversee the preparation of design documentation and ensure its accuracy and quality. Contribute to business development efforts by supporting proposals, client meetings, and project planning. Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on large-scale projects. Chartered Engineer status (or close to achieving it) is preferred. Strong proficiency in structural design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant tools. In-depth knowledge of European building codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget. Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients. Problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and find creative solutions to engineering challenges. Desirable Skills Experience working on international projects. Expertise in sustainable design practices and an understanding of green building principles. Familiarity with advanced analysis techniques and cutting-edge structural technologies.
