  • JuniorEmbedded Software Design and Verification Engineer Salary: €35k to €45k depending on experience Hummingbird Aero International (HBAI) is a new Irish based exciting start up business dedicated to the design/ manufacture of flight control systems for the aircraft global market, both legacy and the emerging future air mobility (eVTOL) aircraft sector.The founders and shareholders are Hummingbird Aero, based in USA, Shannon Precision Engineering, Realtime Technologies and DPF Engineering all based in Ireland. We are looking for a creative Junior Embedded Software Design and Verification Engineer who will develop and verify software for embedded flight control systems. You will be part of the local team while working in close cooperation with our partner company in the USA, Hummingbird Aero LLC a premium solutions provider for the architecture, development, integration and certification of commercial and military aircraft safety-critical systems and components. You will be based on site in Shannon but with the opportunity as required for some hybrid and or remote working. Key Requirements: Knowledge of C language Basic understanding of Control theory (PID loops, feedback systems) Familiarity with debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, JTAG) Understanding of basic control interfaces (PWMs, ADCs, communication busses) Experience with HIL/SIL testing environments. Pluses: Familiarity with motor control microcontrollers or DSP platforms (e.g., ARM Cortex-M, TI C2000) Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, CAN, UART) Exposure to simulation/modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink) Experience with aerospace standards (e.g., DO-178C) Qualifications/Experience: - Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Embedded Systems - 02 years of experience, usually internships or co-ops with embedded systems exposure

Experience leading requirement, design, and code reviews. Experience writing software plans (PSAC, SDP, SAS) and leading DO-178 audits. Experience interacting with customers. Ability to lead embedded software teams.     Test Engineer Salary:€60k to €80k, depending on experience Hummingbird Aero International, based in Shannon, manufacturing flight control systems for the aerospace/space sectors with an initial focus on electromechanical actuation for the advanced air mobility sector, is looking for a Test Engineer to work on next-generation aircraft actuation systems. Efforts will include working across functional teams to develop test plans and procedures, oversight of testing needs and performing a variety of acceptance and qualification test executions. We work in close cooperation with our partner company in the USA, Hummingbird Aero LLC I, a premium solutions provider for the architecture, development, integration and certification of commercial and military aircraft safety-critical systems and components. You will be based on site in Shannon but with the opportunity as required for some hybrid and or remote working. To be considered for this role, here is what you typically need to bring with you: Bachelors, Masters or PHD Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution. 5 or more years of test experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a master or higher degree. Preferred to have thorough understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory which includes but not limit to DO-160 testing. Must possess the ability to develop and communicate new concepts: apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment. Must have strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas. Capable of representing the test team as a prime technical contact on programs. As a Test Engineer, you will: Create test design and planning by developing detail test plans (product level acceptance or qualification level that includes DO-160 testing), test scripts and test procedures based on technical requirements. Execute manual or automated on system or product level testing. Create concise reports to document test results, requirement verification, limitations, and constraints. Interpreting test data to identify anomalies, failure modes and provide root causes. Working with product design and manufacturing teams to suggest improvements. Working with system/requirements team to advise on testing methodology and architecture.
