National Account Manager
Purpose of the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a robust key account management strategy across the ROI market. This role focuses on managing and growing existing customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities. The objective is to enhance the company’s market presence, build strong collaborative partnerships, and drive sustainable, profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Act as a key member of the Commercial Management Team, contributing to the development and delivery of short, medium, and long-term business objectives, with particular responsibility for the ROI market strategy.
Work closely with the Head of Sales & Marketing to set and deliver challenging KPIs, develop sales forecasts, and monitor/report on performance against targets.
Manage key accounts at head office level to maximise sales and profitability, building long-term partnerships and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Take full ownership of day-to-day management of agreed ROI key accounts, acting as the primary commercial contact and liaising with buyers and the NPD team to deliver sales growth.
Conduct regular business reviews with key customers, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with major customers and multiples in the ROI market, proactively driving mutually beneficial growth.
Ensure customer requirements are delivered efficiently and effectively, maintaining a high standard of service.
Prepare and present regular sales, financial, and activity reports to support business planning and decision-making.
Identify, pursue, and convert new commercial opportunities into long-term strategic partnerships.
Generate new business through cold outreach, scheduled meetings, and formal presentations.
Provide product expertise, negotiate pricing within agreed parameters, and agree commercial terms while maintaining margin awareness.
Manage pricing files, promotional activity, category reviews, annual account plans, and commercial negotiations.
Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to ensure product offerings remain competitive and commercially viable.
Support innovation by identifying opportunities for new products and product improvements in collaboration with internal teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of customers, competitors, and market insights.
Represent the company at trade shows and industry events to build brand awareness and generate new business leads.
Support the management of outstanding and overdue debt where required.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the Head of Sales & Marketing.
Key Skills & Experience
Proven experience in key account management, business development, or sales within a relevant industry
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships
Experience managing KPIs, forecasting, and reporting
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely and manage time effectively
Package:
Basic salary - £55k + uncapped bonus (Equivalent in EUR if the successful candidate resides in Southern Ireland)
