The Role
Reporting to the Head of Operations Disability Services the PIC will be responsible for the overall governance, operational management and regulatory compliance of the residential service. The role ensures providing the highest standards of service and includes promoting a person-centred approach to the care and support of Residents and management of staff.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with HIQA standards and the implementation of Genesis policies and procedures.
Ensure robust safeguarding, risk management and health and safety practices.
Report and where appropriate respond to complaints, in line with organisational policies and procedures
The Person in Charge manages the staff team as well as providing mentorship and leadership, supervision, appraisals, monthly team meetings
Coordinate and prioritise appointments in liaison with multi-disciplinary team
Ensure a high quality of life for residents through person centred care plans, health promotion review and personal risk assessments as appropriate.
Enable and support residents to have choice and control in their lives, develop citizenship, maintain relationships with family and friends, including accessing advocates and other professional support as required
Ensure care plans are regularly reviewed and updated as per regulations
Qualifications
A QQI Level 7 Degree in Social Care, or Nursing (Intellectual Disabilities, Psychiatric, General)
Hold an appropriate qualification in Health or Social Care management (Minimum level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
CORU registration (where applicable)
Requirements
Have a minimum of three years’ experience in a management role in the Health or Social Care sector
Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Full clean manual driving licence and own transport (required)
Proven leadership ability and experience in resource planning
Knowledge of HIQA standards and certification

We anticipate a number of Person In Charge (PIC) opportunities arising (in the locations mentioned above) as new residential houses are developed within our disability services. A panel will therefore be formed from this recruitment campaign, and appointments will be made as roles become available.
