GEDON Executive is seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join a respected Tier 2 Main Contractor in Dublin, Ireland . This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with foundational experience (1-3 years) or a recent graduate with a strong placement year to build a career on diverse new‑build projects. This role focuses on commercial management for medium‑sized projects (typically €5 million to €40 million ) across the Education and Residential sectors , offering a competitive salary between €45,000 and €50,000 . Key Responsibilities Commercial Support: Provide direct support to the Intermediate and Senior QSs in managing all commercial and contractual aspects of assigned project packages. Measurement & Take‑Off: Conduct accurate quantity take‑offs from design drawings and specifications to support the estimating and procurement teams. Procurement Assistance: Assist in preparing and issuing subcontractor and supplier tender enquiries , analyzing returned quotations, and preparing sub‑contract orders. Financial Administration: Assist in compiling data for monthly valuations (applications for payment) and preparing necessary documentation for subcontractor payments. Cost Control: Monitor and track site costs, including labour, plant, and material expenditure, against established budgets. Variation Support: Assist in measuring and compiling cost information for minor variations and change orders . Documentation: Maintain and organize comprehensive commercial and contractual records. What You'll Bring Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally 1-3 years of post‑graduate experience , or significant experience gained through a placement year, preferably within a contractor environment. Sector Exposure: Exposure to Residential and/or Education building projects is highly desirable. Commercial Acumen: Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Contractual Knowledge: Basic understanding of construction contracts used in the Irish market ( RIAI ). Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
