We are seeking a Network and Systems Engineer to join our client’s team and support a complex hybrid IT environment that includes on-premises infrastructure and cloud-hosted systems. The role will involve working across local data centres and multiple nationwide locations, with some engagement with international offices. Key technologies include Azure, Hyper-V, and Azure HCI. Key Responsibilities Maintain and monitor the network infrastructure to ensure performance, security, and stability. Investigate and resolve network-related issues via the IT Service Desk, including root cause analysis and preventative actions. Configure and support networking hardware and software (e.g., switches, routers, firewalls). Monitor connectivity and escalate issues when necessary. Provide first-line support for incidents and service requests. Support the deployment and documentation of new network infrastructure projects. Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers as required. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Participate in internal training and development opportunities. Carry out other duties in line with business needs. Required Qualifications & Skills Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong understanding of core networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, and the OSI model. Solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a team-focused mindset. Certifications such as JNCIA, CompTIA Network+, or Cisco CCNA (or currently working towards them). Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments. Familiarity with software-defined and cloud-managed networking technologies. Exposure to enterprise-grade infrastructure, including Juniper and Cisco platforms.
