IT Support Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide high-quality technical support to end users in a professional corporate environment. The role involves delivering Level 1 and Level 2 support , resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day IT operations.
This position is ideal for candidates with hands‑on IT support experience who are customer‑focused and comfortable working in fast‑paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first and second‑line IT support to end users
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues
Support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
Deliver on‑site and remote technical support
Systems & Account Management
Manage user accounts and permissions (Active Directory / Microsoft 365)
Support email and collaboration tools (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive)
Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and applications
Networking & Infrastructure Support
Troubleshoot basic networking issues (LAN/Wi‑Fi, DNS, DHCP)
Support VPN and remote access connectivity
Escalate complex technical issues to senior teams when required
Ticketing & Documentation
Log, track, and resolve incidents using ticketing systems
Maintain accurate IT documentation and asset records
Follow IT security policies, procedures, and SLAs
Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience in an IT Support / Helpdesk / Desktop Support role
Strong knowledge of:
Windows 10/11
Microsoft 365
Experience with:
Active Directory user administration
Hardware and software troubleshooting
Basic networking concepts
Strong communication and customer‑service skills
Preferred / Advantageous Skills
Experience with ITIL‑based support processes
Familiarity with device management tools (Intune, SCCM – advantage)
IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft)
Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred)
Relevant professional experience will be considered in place of formal education
Work Authorisation
Candidates must have the right to work in Ireland . Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
