Legal Counsel – Utilities / Infrastructure (In-House)
We are partnering with a leading utilities and infrastructure business seeking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team. This role will suit a commercially focused lawyer who enjoys working closely with the business on large, complex projects.
Key responsibilities:
Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including services, supply, subcontractor and customer agreements.
Supporting bid and tender activity, including reviewing contractual terms in RFPs/framework agreements and advising on risk allocation.
Providing day-to-day legal support to operations, commercial, finance and senior leadership teams on project delivery and contractual issues.
Advising on contractual disputes and variations, working with external counsel where required.
Assisting with governance, risk and compliance matters, including implementing and maintaining contract and legal processes and templates.
Requirements:
Must be a professionally qualified lawyer – qualified to practise law in Ireland (mandatory) with a minimum of 1 year post‑qualification experience in commercial contracts.
Experience gained in a reputable law firm and/or in-house environment, ideally with exposure to utilities, infrastructure, construction or related sectors.
Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to give clear, concise and commercially focused advice to non‑legal stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage a busy and varied workload, prioritise effectively and work independently where required.
Collaborative, solutions-driven mindset and strong communication skills.
