Reporting to:  Site Engineer/Senior Engineer Role Responsibilities: Set out as directed and ensure the information provided is clearly understood. Disseminate information from drawings, specifications, etc. to foremen, operatives, subcontractors, so that they clearly understand what is required. Test materials as directed by your supervisor in accordance with the relevant specifications. Highlight discrepancies between actual vs. calculated materials required [e.g. concrete]. Meet weekly programme targets as set by site management. Record all daily activities, relevant information, and occurrences in your site diary. Record and report on work progress including that of subcontractors to your manager. Listen to and learn from more experienced site personnel - if in doubt, ask. Pursue your own development and training proactively [i.e., complete the work-based development programme in a timely manner]. Conduct your work in a safe manner. Develop professional working relationships with your work colleagues. Monitor and check setting out instruments and testing equipment. Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in your own work, elimination of re-work and waste. Follow directions and attend meetings as required. The Candidate: Currently studying a 3rd Level Degree in a related discipline (Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, etc.) Good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. Self-starter with good judgement and the ability to work under pressure. Eagerness and willingness to learn and develop and the ability to critique your own work and ask for assistance when needed. REPORTING TO: Project Quantity Surveyor Purpose of Role Develop understanding of all Quantity Surveying duties on your project to ensure commercial and contractual commitments are met under direction of Flynn's commercial team. Role Responsibilities Assist with administering cost systems, change order logs, variations and claims register as directed by project QS. Aid with monitoring all project costs as directed by the project QS. Assist in procuring and letting subcontractor packages. Validate subcontractors/suppliers' interim payments and submit to Flynn's commercial team for approval. Identify, document and track claims and variations with the Flynn project team with the support of the QS. Keep the project team informed of all commercial activity, report changes to project QS. Maintain professional working relationships with the clients and the representatives to whom you are exposed to. Work with the Project Quantity Surveyor to ensure your cost reporting is accurate and submitted on time. Assist in identifying commercial risks and change opportunities with Flynn's project teams and report to project QS. The Candidate Currently studying a degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics. Ability to communicate well with the project teams. Good writing skills. Willingness to learn and develop. Demonstrates a commercial awareness and understanding. Basic knowledge of construction process and techniques. Attention to detail and strong work ethic. We are looking for a senior MEP Lead to join our team in Dublin and oversee our MEP deliverable to the Data Centre Sector. REPORTING TO: International Projects Director PURPOSE OF ROLE: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the MEP design, procurement, installation, and commissioning on multiple projects. You will also lead and develop a team of MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants, and ensure the quality and compliance of the MEP works. This is a senior role within the organisation with significant potential to positively impact the strategic goals of the business. You will also have the opportunity to work with internal and external stakeholders, propose innovative solutions, and enhance the reputation of Flynn as a leader in MEP services. Role Responsibilities: Attract, retain, and lead a team of Mechanical, Electrical, and commissioning engineers. Build a network of Suppliers, MEP Contractors and Consultants. Develop and implement a procurement and delivery strategy for the MEP deliverable on multiple projects. Ensure the quality and compliance of the MEP design, procurement, installation, and commissioning, in accordance with the project specifications, budget, and schedule. Monitor and control the progress of procurement, delivery, and commissioning on site, with a plan integrated with the Project Programme. Ensure that MEP installation is fully coordinated and optimized to eliminate wasteful activity on site. Prepare and monitor technical submittals for approval by the client. Monitor LEED and BREEAM requirements and submittals as required. Prepare operation and maintenance manuals. Ensure the commissioning stage is fully integrated, planned, monitored, and executed to the clients’ requirements, working with the delivery team to ensure milestones are hit to facilitate this. Organise and lead client demonstrations. The Candidate: Desire for International Travel. Relevant Engineering degree and Leadership experience. Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role for a MC/Management Contractor, a Large Engineering Contractor, or an Engineering Consultant. Proven track record of longevity of service with an organisation. Excellent knowledge of Digital Technology and MEP standards and regulations. Strong commercial awareness and decision making skills. Ability to attract, lead, develop, and retain a team of engineers. Ability to review clients’ designs and provide value-added solutions. Ability to work proactively and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to travel as required by the demands of the role.
