FT delivers planning, environmental studies and preliminary planning design to clients in the renewable energy sector and provides design and contract‑management services for infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, rail, solid‑waste facilities, renewable energy plants, drainage, water and wastewater treatment facilities, airports, tunnels and gas pipelines. FT is recruiting a Senior Project Energy Engineer with a background in environmental and civil engineering to join our Energy and Planning team in the Cork, Dublin or Carlow office. The role is suited for candidates with a minimum of five years of experience. The successful candidate will join an established company, acquire a broad range of professional skills and experiences with support from mentors across several disciplines, and enjoy exposure to a number of project types. Responsibilities Deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to the agreed quality standards with the client. Plan and oversee CAD documentation for design work, collaborating closely with Project Engineers and Engineering Technicians. Participate in meetings with clients and other professionals. Ensure adherence to our Quality Assurance and Management Systems. Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations. Coordinate work effectively with other members of the project team. Qualifications Degree in Civil Engineering. At least five years of post‑graduate experience. Consultancy experience preferred. Energetic and proactive professional. Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills. Experience liaising with external stakeholders, clients, subcontractors. Familiarity with Public Works Contracts is advantageous. Flexible and collaborative team player. Able to work independently and efficiently. Willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings. Full driving licence required. FT is actively recruiting an experienced Associate Director - Environmental Engineering to join our Circular Economy and Environmental team at one of our locations in Cork, Dublin or Carlow. This opportunity is uniquely suited for professionals with at least 15 years of industry experience. The selected candidate will become part of the team in our established company with opportunities to expand their professional capabilities and expertise. The role provides involvement across diverse project portfolios including major circular economy infrastructure such as aerobic and anaerobic biological treatment facilities, waste transfer stations, materials recycling facilities, energy from waste facilities, landfill remediation and aftercare, engineering landfills, landfill capping and public realm enhancements. FT provides the successful candidate with a defined advancement pathway toward Director-level positions. FT's Responsibilities Oversee civil and environmental design teams and to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, while maintaining quality standards. Identify and develop new business opportunities and client relationships. Mentor and guide both senior and junior team members to foster professional growth. Create comprehensive technical reports and prepare detailed tender documentation. Collaborate with Project Owners to effectively plan and manage design workflows. Uphold quality assurance standards and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. Facilitate cross-functional teamwork and coordinate deliverables among team members. Skills / Qualifications Advanced qualification (Level 8 or Level 9) in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or related discipline Chartered Engineer credential Minimum 15+ years career experience in the design and project leadership. Proven track record of multi-disciplinary design management experience. Stakeholder management abilities across clients and sub-consultants. Demonstrated business growth achievement. Financial oversight expertise in budget creation and management. Dynamic, high-performing communicator with exceptional analytical capabilities. Collaborative mindset with adaptability to evolving project demands. Self-motivated problem-solver with independent work ethic.
