  • Job Description - Administrator Assistant (01012) Administrator Assistant (Job Number: 01012) This role will see you being based at our Monaghan Office to assist with the Uisce Eireann Project, with responsibility for the day-to-day administrative and reception duties. The position does offer hybrid working after a training and probation period. As a Site Administrator your duties will include: Site Administration, Main contact for all site related admin. Working with the client’s system and websites. Organising, scheduling, and progressing task items via the system. Updating excel spreadsheets and file management including keeping records up to date. Creating and compiling data into excel spreadsheets. Your required Skills and Experience: Prior experience in an administrative or support role. Sound working knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office suite. Excellent interpersonal skills and able to quickly build strong working relationships. Ability to organise your own workload, filing methods and work in a clear and logical manner. To meet deadlines without compromising on quality. Capable of working on own initiative whilst working in a team environment. Able to prioritise, multi-task and an understanding of deadlines and working to achieve these. Confident in asking questions, seeking and clarifying information and have an enthusiasm to learn new experiences and be supportive of and part of a hard-working team. Outline of the role As a Site Engineer, you will primarily be involved in the daily inspection of the quality of the work completed onsite. Alongside the site team, you will initiate continuous improvements to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. This will ensure the customers’ expectations are met, whilst aligning activities within industry standards. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for: Building strong working relationships with the Engineering team and sub-contractors. Assisting in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity. Assisting in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork, etc. Providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered. Setting out works ensuring they are constructed within allowable tolerances. Regularly checking the setting out points and benchmarks and ensuring all setting out instruments and measuring equipment are delivered to site with a calibration certificate and recorded accordingly. Ensuring RAMS have been produced and briefed to the sub-contractors in advance of works starting. Responsible for producing RAMS for self-delivered work and reviewing RAMS for sub-contracted works. Providing and maintaining setting out and dimensional control, to ensure accurate construction of the work. Taking a proactive approach to managing Health and Safety on site. Coordinating and supervising temporary works as required. Implementing a regime of test and inspection plans for all works ensuring that all works have been signed off by the client through the completion of inspection and test records. Producing 3-week lookahead programmes for your work activities, reporting on progress weekly and being able to provide mitigation proposals for any delays. Commercial awareness – understanding the scope of the works and advising on any works that are required outside of the scope of works so as costs can be recovered from the client. Required Skills and Experience: Educated to degree standard in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Technical knowledge of construction and best practices. An appropriate and valid CSCS / CSR card. Hold a Full Manual UK Driving License. First Aid at Work. Sound knowledge of engineering, latest building regulations, legislation, and Health and Safety. Experience in producing lookahead programmes and providing information to the planner for updating the project programme. Previous experience in one or more of Roads & Bridges, Water, Marine, Renewables, or Horizon. Working knowledge of the complete Microsoft Office Suite. Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels. Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills.     Job Number: Junior Site Engineer (00995) Outline of the role As a Junior Engineer in the Civils Division at Farrans Construction, you will be responsible for supporting the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects. Your tasks will include assisting with site surveys, preparing technical reports, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the successful completion of infrastructure projects. Project Outline Farrans is working on the Irish Water Project, Uisce Éireann, which aims to enhance and modernise water infrastructure across Ireland to ensure a reliable and high-quality water supply for communities. As a Junior Engineer you will be responsible for: Undertaking surveys and setting-out on site Preparation of drawings and calculations to ensure quality control and compliance procedures are adhered to for engineering Monitoring construction progress to ensure that deadlines are being met Liaising with clients and carrying out site investigations Coordinating with engineers, subcontractors, and other parties involved in the construction project to ensure that all work is completed according to specifications. Liaising with quantity surveyors about the ordering and the pricing of materials Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to. Required Skills and Experience Hold a bachelor’s degree, HNC or HND in an Engineering/Construction discipline. 1-3 years of experience in the industry Hold a full UK manual driving license. Passionate about continuing a career in the civils/construction industry. High attention to detail coupled with meticulous planning and organisational skills.
