Role Overview
This role is responsible for the continuous development and implementation of the enterprise-wide risk management framework across the Company's head office and branch network. A primary focus of this position is partnering with business functions to integrate risk considerations into core processes, enabling the achievement of operational objectives. As Senior Risk Manager, this role is pivotal in driving the evolution of the firm’s risk framework and fostering a robust risk culture that positions the organisation to successfully execute its strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the continuous development and embedding of the risk management framework, ensuring it remains dynamic and fit-for-purpose by proactively adapting to emerging external trends and relevant regulatory requirements.
Lead production of risk reporting to senior management and Board, including quarterly and annual reports.
Deliver risk insights to senior management and Board committees through quarterly risk reporting.
Manage the risk event reporting framework to ensure timely escalation of material matters while coordinating comprehensive root cause analysis.
Maintain Key Risk Indicator (KRI) monitoring system and performance dashboards to track and ensure exposures remain within defined appetite and tolerance levels.
Coordinate the annual review and refresh of the firm’s risk appetite.
Facilitate the annual risk and control self‑assessment in partnership with business functions to ensure the business risk profile remains current.
Support continued development of the company’s control frameworks.
Lead the annual Own Risk & Solvency Assessment (ORSA) process and production of annual ORSA report, collaborating with other business functions to do so.
Deliver the annual review and update of the firm’s recovery plan.
Undertake deep dives of selected risks.
Partner with business teams and multiple stakeholders spanning senior leadership, department heads, and first line subject‑matter experts to provide risk management advice, support, oversight and challenge.
Support continued enhancement and embedding of risk culture throughout the organisation.
Competencies, skills and experience
Experience within the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services sectors.
Knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks, internal control environments, and risk appetite governance.
Demonstratable ability to influence key stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Proven ability to work on own initiative within a dynamic work environment.
An ability to think critically and analytically.
Experience with ORSA processes and actuarial collaboration is highly desirable.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
