We are now seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead our clinical team and shape the delivery of exceptional, person-centred care from day one. As Director of Nursing , you will have full clinical and operational oversight of the nursing home, ensuring compliance with HIQA standards, the Health Act 2007, and Ethos Care’s commitment to excellence. You will provide strategic leadership, foster a positive team culture, and create an environment that meets the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of residents. Key Responsibilities Lead and govern all clinical operations, ensuring the highest standards of care. Represent the nursing home as the senior clinical leader, acting in the best interests of residents, staff, and the wider Ethos Care group. Ensure full compliance with HIQA and statutory requirements, including registration and regulatory reporting. Build and maintain a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion for residents, while supporting and empowering staff. Oversee a multi-disciplinary team, including workforce planning, supervision, and ongoing professional development. Manage operational aspects including clinical governance, health & safety, budgets, and occupancy. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in clinical care and service delivery. Promote strong collaboration and communication with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders. Professional Requirements Registered Nurse with active NMBI registration . Minimum 6 years post-registration experience , including at least 3 years in older persons’ care. Minimum 3 years in a senior nursing management role , preferably in a nursing home or long-term care setting. Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Management, Gerontology, Healthcare Leadership, or Healthcare Management (or willingness to undertake). Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Full clean Irish driver’s licence and access to personal transport. Skills & Competencies Extensive knowledge of HIQA standards and regulatory compliance. Evidence of continuous professional development.
