  • ESS Maintenance Technician  

    - Carlow

    Role Purpose: To operate and maintain the day-to-day running of the distillery equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This includes a strong emphasis on health & safety, ATEX safety, site hygiene, environmental issues, and record-keeping. The role involves providing feedback on completed work and required tasks, and completing scheduled corrective and preventive maintenance tasks as planned. Key Areas of Responsibility Day-to-Day Operations: Ensure the smooth running of the distillery plant. Reactive Maintenance: Perform necessary reactive maintenance and update the maintenance management system (Maintainx) with completed work and follow-up tasks. Planned Maintenance (PM): Complete scheduled PM tasks, review and develop PM procedures, and ensure the availability of necessary spares. Spare Parts Management: Book out and identify spare parts required for maintenance tasks. Work and Time Recording: Record all work and time spent on tasks in the CMMS system (Maintainx). Performance Delivery: Achieve desired plant performance targets. Initiative Participation: Engage in company and site-driven initiatives. Safety Reporting: Report any near-miss or safety concerns. Meetings: Attend daily production meetings as required. Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Conduct RCA where applicable. Mechanical Biased Technician Specific Responsibilities Mechanical Maintenance: Focus on the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimise downtime. Mechanical Upgrades: Implement mechanical upgrades and improvements to enhance plant Education / Experience Trades Qualified Fitter Experience working within a high volume maintenance environment Excellent troubleshooting skills Ability to work on own initative Skills: Mechanical Maintenance troubleshooting

    Key Responsibilities Safety identify risks and put in place mitigation actions if required. Ensure that all equipment failures or issues are responded to promptly and appropriately in across functional environment. Record interventions including failure codes. Providingguidance and solutions for preventative action where required. Execute planned maintenance routines including predictive, preventative and calibrationactivities. Use of CMMS systems - completion of all required paperwork work orders, LOTO, permits Ensuring all Work Orders are completed in a compliant manner and asset management datais captured accurately. Provide clear and concise written and verbal handovers to colleagues. Participating in project activities and reviews where required. Identifying job plan activities and spare partsfor planned activities. Identifying and Supporting major equipment overhauls and manage vendors when necessary. Supporting the development of training documentation, cross train colleagues as required. Working in cross functional teams where Operational Excellence techniques are used to optimise processes. Ensuring the site is always audit ready, house-keeping standards are always adhered to and all training completed on time. Ensuring all services (site water systems, compressed air systems, N2 & HVAC systems and chillers) are available to maintain the production schedule. Adhere to all the relevant policies and procedures. Qualification / Work Experience The successful candidate must possess at minimum a Level 7 Electrical, Instrumentation , Refrigeration orMechanical related qualification. At least 4 years experience in a maintenance or relevant engineering role in a regulatedmanufacturing environment is essential i.e. in a pharmaceutical, medical device or FMCGfacility. Responsibilities to include (but not limited) to the following : maintenance of all site water, steam, compressed air, chiller systems, N2 and HVAC systems. CMMS experience High level of attention to detail in following procedures and must be flexible and open tochange. Ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Strong problem-solving ability and adhere to scheduled timelines.   • Health & Safety Officer  

    - Cork

    Main Purpose:- Promote Safety, Health and Welfare throughout the organisation. Management and implementation of H&S policies and procedures. Liaise with the ESS Group managers and employees in the development of site-specific documentation to ensure compliance with Health & Safety Legislation. Have the authority to stop work if there is an imminent safety hazard. Specific duties will include:- Culture Promote Safety, Health and Welfare throughout the organisation. Ensure a positive group H&S culture exists where employees feel they can discuss or raise any issue in relation to Health and Safety and will be supported on any of the customer sites. Provide H&S support as required to any employee, supplier or customer on any site that engages the services of the ESS Group. Support management and duty holders in ensuring a proactive and systematic approach to managing health and safety. Advise Management of their legislative obligations and the requirements of the ESS Group standards for safety, health and welfare. Ensure a proactive consultation process exists between the ESS Group, all employees, customers and suppliers. Compliance Implement a Health & Safety Management System (ISO45001) in accordance with current Health & Safety Legislation across ESS group companies (includes multiple sites), employees, and customers. Conduct H&S inductions and training for employees. Carry out risk assessments where required to support both employee and clients, identifying potential hazards, consider how risks could be reduced and provide appropriate advice. This includes general assessments and also site-specific assessments on customer sites. Identify, coordinate and issue personal protective equipment to employees. Investigate accidents and incidents to full conclusion, implement and record corrective actions. Maintain a log of all accidents & incidents, including investigation details & outcomes. Maintain a log of Supplier (including subcontractors) requirements & ensure all related documentation is available and maintained as up-to-date. Maintain customer portals related to H&S registration and records Complete internal audits as required and ensure all discrepancies are corrected in a timely manner. Ensure the Safety Statement and associated documentation is accurate and revised annually. Training Co-ordinate H&S training delivery for employees including booking training sessions. Ensure training records and H&S Training Matrix are maintained and updated as required. Communication Organise H&S management meetings. Complete Toolbox talks and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention. Develop safety bulletins and issue monthly. Position Requirements:- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or similar qualification. Minimum 3 years H&S experience in an operational-, contracting-, or construction-related role. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proactive, self-motivated, and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. Full driving license. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD or CMMS software is a plus. Full clean Irish Driving Licence Note - Travel to customer sites within Munster will be required. Skills: Health & Safety Training
