  • Renewables Site Mobilisation Specialist  

    - Dublin

    Position Description Renewable Operations is a division within ESB Generation and Trading with responsibility for the management of the Operation and Maintenance of ESB's renewable assets portfolio. This currently includes Onshore Wind and Distributed Generation portfolio such as large-scale batteries, solar, synchronous condensers and flexible gas plant. As part of delivery of the Net Zero by 2040 Strategy ESB will generate 70% of our electricity generation from renewable assets by 2030. This will involve an increase to +5,000MW of renewable generation, offshore wind, onshore wind and solar. Also, further development of renewable enabling flexible generation assets including battery energy storage systems, peaking plants and grid support devices such as synchronous condensers. Due to the significant expansion of the renewable's portfolio, ESB is looking to appoint a Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative within ESB Renewables O&M. The role of the Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative is to represent the O&M interests of ESB as asset owner of the new sites in the construction stage and ensure the safe and smooth transition of the project from energisation to normal operation. This position offers candidates an exciting opportunity to join an expanding business area, gain site experience, and position themselves for future vacancies in the area. It is the intention that the successful candidate for the Renewables Site Mobilisation Representative will undertake all the mobilisation activities on the site(s) in line with business needs. It is envisaged that this particular role will have the responsibility for the mobilisation for a number of Renewable sites. Responsibilities will be as per business needs and flexibility to adapt to these needs will be a core requirement of this role. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will include the items below in the mobilisation phase: Participate in O&M design reviews, advise on O&M requirements for new sites, and provide input to design risk assessments. Ensure all O&M activities on construction sites are conducted in strict compliance with ESB Safety Rules. Liaison with key internal and external stakeholders. Completion of pre-operational takeover reviews of site assets such as substation, battery energy storage systems, aeroderivative gas turbines and all other plant and equipment. Carry out representative snagging inspections with a view to providing ESB G&T with an assessment of the state of readiness of the plant for takeover at the Commercial Operations Date. Preparation of inspection and maintenance schedules for plant and put in place service contracts for routine O&M activities. This shall entail use of computerised asset management system. Development of site-specific policies and procedures such as emergency response procedures. Co-ordinate O&M review of the asset safety file, and manage the transfer to O&M. Acting as Site Engineer for initial period of operation of the site prior to full transfer to Operations Manager within O&M. Provide a timely site response capability in the event of an issue developing on a site during the mobilisation phase. Management of service providers and contractors onsite including performing inductions and setting to work as required. Manage, administer and ensure compliance with the ESB Safety Rules in operation. This role may involve undertaking various roles within the ESB Safety Rules. Experience and Qualifications Essential The successful candidate will: 5 years' work experience in operation or design or commissioning of electrical equipment/generating plant. A Technical Engineering Qualification (preferably Mechanical / Electrical/C&I) or equivalent industry experience. Be assertive and have excellent communication skills. Have a strong safety and risk management focus. Have strong reporting and documentation skills. Have ability to work on own initiative and develop and improve procedures. Be willing to work flexible hours (office and on site) to accommodate site mobilisation and operational requirements. ESB ecars Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for all aspects of the delivery of new EV charging infrastructure from design to commissioning and handover to the ecars Asset Management. The Project Manager will lead the delivery of EV charging infrastructure projects across multiple client sites. This includes managing site assessments, coordinating contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of EV charging projects, including enabling works, feasibility assessments, and pre-commissioning.   • HV Stations Designers

    Position Description Applications are invited for the position of a HV Stations Designer. There are multiple positions available in both the Northern & Southern Regions. The HV Designer is responsible for providing safe network designs within your discipline. These design packs will be used by ESB Networks staff and/or contractors as per Work Programs to carry out work safely on the Electricity Network. The designs shall be carried out in line with relevant standards set down by ESB Network Assets and adhering to Company Standards. Depending upon the specific role assignment this design work can be related to domestic, commercial and industrial new or increased customer connections. In addition, the design work may be associated with the Capital Work Programmes including line design from LV to 38kV and underground design.   • Energy Credits Specialist [15 Months]

    Position Description We are seeking an Energy Credits Specialist with a degree in Engineering or another technical discipline and 3 to 5 years experience in the energy or related industries. Familiarity with the Irish Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) is highly desirable. You will be responsible for delivering non-residential Energy Credits to meet Electric Ireland's obligations under the EEOS. This is a customer-facing role with a strong regulatory and compliance element. The successful candidate will have excellent numeracy and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and written communications skills, and will be strongly motivated to work with energy efficiency and sustainable energy technologies. In support of ESB's strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity and empowering clients, you will work closely with customers, with suppliers of energy credits, and with SEAI to ensure Electric Ireland's compliance with its efficiency obligations. You will gain valuable experience and understanding of energy efficiency technologies and industrial processes across a range of industries. Key Responsibilities Deliver Electric Ireland's Energy Credits Obligation: Engagement with customers and third parties, collation of documentation, submission to SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) and processing of payments. Measurement and Verification: Review energy efficiency measures and develop M&V plans to ensure customers take the correct steps to monitor their energy consumption in order to calculate eligible energy savings for reporting purposes.     The successful candidate will be an experienced submarine cables engineer who will support the delivery of the Cables package for the offshore export cable and inter-array cable systems for windfarm projects. There will be a particular in the Transport and Installation (T&I) aspects of cable projects in this role.
