Generation Projects within Engineering & Major Projects (E&MP) has been established to develop all generation projects, both renewable and thermal projects, as well as managing overhauls and construction projects. Our projects range from major utility scale offshore and onshore wind farms, to solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, to flexible generation gas turbine and synchronous condenser projects. This involves working in partnership with Asset Development to develop projects as the business case evolves and progress projects based on risks and opportunities. Projects are expected to be developed from a number of sources, green field, brown field, re-powering, partnerships and acquisition opportunities. Given the differing requirements, E&MP will develop flexible solutions to meet these requirements and is required to adapt to the changing environment of renewable project development. Key Responsibilities The Project Manager(s) may be rotated within Generation Projects to work across multiple projects and a variety of technologies. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of our DSO Site Acquisitions and Planning programme. This multimillion-euro CAPEX programme is to directly deliver new distribution substations to meet ESB's Net Zero 2040 strategy. The role will require the Senior Electrical Engineer to carry out appropriate technical assessments to support the planning and development of sites for new substation infrastructure, grid connections and associated offloading. The role will also involve supporting the Site Acquisitions and Planning team in their regular co-ordination with local authorities, statutory bodies, customers, external consultants, land agents and landowners. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be required to have strong project management and technical design background, detailed knowledge of internal safety procedures and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will cover the items below: Key responsibility of the role is to provide physical design layouts for new distribution substation projects with a key focus on network design relating to grid connectivity and offloading. Position Description Our Networks for Net Zero Strategy sets out ESB Networks' role in enabling the delivery of the Government's Climate Action Plan and supports the decarbonisation of electricity by 2040, which will enable the achieving of Ireland's net zero ambition no later than 2050. We are hiring Planning Standards Engineer within the planning policy and standards team to join our Network Development Team in ESB Networks. Network Development is responsible for planning the medium and long-term reinforcement of the high voltage (HV), medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) distribution network to enable the Climate Action Plan targets and our Networks for Net Zero Strategy with a particular focus on the areas of electrification of heat and transport, connection of large demand customer, connection of renewables and development of policies and standards. Familiarity with the latest policy changes and legislation requirements for System Operators and the impact they have on the distribution system. Provide support to network planners (both demand and generation) and verify the compliance of studies outputs with the Distribution System Security and Planning Standard, policies and procedures. Position Description The purpose of the role is to help maintain a strong cyber security posture across ESB Networks Assets Systems. It will cover a range of activities including supporting ESBN management in the delivery of the cyber security plan, assisting in the audit and review process and proactively managing emerging threats that could impact the Operational Technology environment.
