  • ESB ecars IT & Digital Product Owner

    Established in 2010, ESB ecars installs, operates, and manages publicly available EV charge point infrastructure in the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Great Britain providing charging services to all EV drivers. Underpinned by strong policy drivers, the electromobility industry is now growing rapidly with the number of EVs in Europe increasing greatly as EV sales grow exponentially. To cater for future demand, and in line with our 2030 strategy, ESB ecars is focused on scaling its business, primarily through the roll-out of fast and high‑power charging infrastructure in all markets, and the provision of a reliable, high‑quality charging service to its customers. In addition to expanding its charging networks, ESB ecars aims to be a recognised digital leader in the e‑mobility space, through the creation of a best‑in‑class customer experience. The ecars IT & Digital product portfolio consists of a range of software‑as‑a‑service based products hosted and developed by an outsourced SaaS provider. The core IT systems include a charge point management system, a billing and tariffing engine, and a revenue management system. Digital & web platforms include the 'ecar connect' and 'EV Plug In' mobile apps, ecars websites, as well as digital portals for both customers and operations teams. Integrations exist with external systems to facilitate payment processing, customer communication, and to enable EV roaming. A data analytics / reporting solution is also in place. Key Responsibilities Lead the definition and execution of product roadmaps for assigned IT & Digital products, acting as the subject matter expert and product ambassador with deep knowledge of product capabilities and customer needs. In collaboration with internal stakeholders and based on the product roadmap, create, continuously refine, iterate and prioritise the backlog for assigned products, ensuring that features are aligned with changing market, customer and commercial requirements. Write detailed and compelling user stories that clearly articulate feature requirements, reflect‑real world use cases and customer needs, such that they can be effectively estimated, and are understood by outsourced partners and other relevant teams. Determine optimal delivery approach (configuration/customisation vs new development), while ensuring compliance with ESB's Cybersecurity and Cloud policies, regulatory requirements, and e‑Mobility standards. Plan and drive feature delivery, managing dependencies and risks, and resolving blockers for timely, cost‑effective outcomes. Lead testing processes including test case definition, acceptance criteria, and defect resolution. Work with business stakeholders and the wider ecars IT & Digital team to co‑ordinate, plan and deploy releases to production. Create and maintain comprehensive product documentation, including user guides and release notes. Monitor and evaluate performance of assigned products through data insights and feedback to enable continuous iteration and improvement and to optimise value. Experience and Qualifications Essential 3rd level qualification in Computing, Business or equivalent work experience, and at least 5 years of proven professional experience as a Product Owner, solution / functional architect or technical Project Manager. Broad knowledge and experience working with IT & Digital systems using a range of technologies including web & mobile (iOS/Android), cloud, web services and APIs, together with a thorough understanding of functional areas such as customer billing, payment processing, CRM. Skilled in requirements gathering, and possess a flare for crafting clear and concise user stories. Experience in working in agile environments, with strong attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively and multi‑task.   • Position Description Vacancies exist for Hands-On Supervisor roles in the Lee Stations across Maintenance, Mechanical, Electrical, Projects and Operations. Built between 1952 and 1957, Lee Generating Stations joined the schemes on the rivers Shannon, Erne and Liffey to become ESB's fourth major hydroelectric development. This involved creating two reservoirs in the Lee Valley, which: cover an area of 14km² and have a storage capacity of 45 million cubic metres. Overall, the stations have a combined capacity of 27 MW. Inniscarra has two generating units: one produces 15 MW and the other produces 4 MW. Both units use Voith turbines with Brown Boveri generators, which operate under an average head of 30m. Carrigadrohid has one generating unit (Voith turbine/Siemens generator) with a capacity of 8 MW, operating under an average head of 13m. Lee stations are a high efficiency producer of renewable energy and are part of ESB's goal of Net Zero by 2040. The Supervisor(s) will be required to work across all functional areas within the station including maintenance, operations, civil, supervision and contractor management. The successful candidate(s) will be required to work autonomously, be flexible and be a self-starter, providing support to other teams and projects as required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others is required. They will work in a dynamic environment and to meet the business needs the successful candidate will be required on occasions to have flexible working hours/working week including weekend and night working and be available for call-outs.   • Position Description As a team member of the Cybersecurity, Risk, Business Continuity & GDPR Team you will be required to support the Business Continuity & Cyber Security Assurance Manager to protect ESB Networks from Cybersecurity risks and enhance ESBN'scompliance in line with our Regulatory Cybersecurity obligations.
