The ideal candidate will carry out work on the river systems and have expertise in fish surveys and electrofishing, fish telemetry with floy, acoustic, PIT, radio, CWT and/or PSATs tags, data analysis and reporting. The role involves conducting field studies, research, data collection, and report writing to gather data to support the delivery of ESB's Sustainable River Strategy (SRS) and to improve river connectivity across Ireland. Key Responsibilities Conduct fish telemetry studies to estimate hydro-turbine mortality rates for downstream migrating European eels and Atlantic salmon smolts, and to test fish behaviour around fish guidance/deterrence systems. Design and implement fish telemetry projects to monitor fish movement and behaviour around fish passes and locks, to improve, retrofit, or build new fish pass infrastructure. Position Description This role will require an electrical engineering background with significant experience in project or programme management. This is a people manager role so people management experience is desirable but not essential. Working with many different stakeholders both internal and external is a critical component of managing the different processes such as Low Voltage (LV) planning studies for system improvements and LV generation connections, running tender processes and quality assurance and reporting for the LV System Improvement (SI) programme. Stand up a new PR6 work programme to unloop services using information gathered from the pilot programme to prepare a tender for a full contractor framework to deliver this work programme. Lead all aspects of embedding the process, system and people changes required to improve the overall customer experience when a service cable needs to be unlooped. Author internal and external technical articles, reports and presentation of the work ESB Networks is doing to accommodate electrification at external webinars and seminars, supporting the demonstration to policy makers, senior management and staff that ESB Networks is successfully working to enable electrification. Position Description We are now looking for an energetic and enthusiastic IT Professional to join our IT Delivery team. We design, deliver and support all activities associated with ESB's IT strategy through innovative IT solutions. We operate one of the most technologically advanced IT and telecommunications infrastructures in the country running over 500 applications as well as being the largest SAP user in Ireland. We also have one of the largest IT spends in the country and we deliver a large number of new multi-million IT projects each year. Our underlying infrastructure includes Linux and Windows servers running on Dell hardware and VMware virtualisation technologies. Enterprise data storage technologies include IBM Flash arrays, Brocade SAN switches, and Veritas backup technologies. Routing and switching within the infrastructure is based on Cisco technologies. The Systems Engineering Team is responsible for managing the Red Hat Enterprise Linux server infrastructure in ESB. This comprises over 800 servers, the majority of which run as virtual servers on over 100 hosts running VMware ESXi on Dell PowerEdge hardware. The majority of servers are hosted in ESB datacentre suites in South West Dublin and North West Dublin and in Microsoft Azure.
