Position Description Renewable Operations is a division within ESB Generation and Trading with responsibility for the management of the Operation and Maintenance of ESB's renewable assets portfolio. This currently includes Onshore Wind and Distributed Generation portfolio such as large-scale batteries, solar, synchronous condensers and flexible gas plant. As part of delivery of the Net Zero by 2040 Strategy ESB will generate 70% of our electricity generation from renewable assets by 2030. This will involve an increase to +5,000MW of renewable generation, offshore wind, onshore wind and solar. Also, further development of renewable enabling flexible generation assets including battery energy storage systems, peaking plants and grid support devices such as synchronous condensers. Acting as Site Engineer for initial period of operation of the site prior to full transfer to Operations Manager within O&M. Provide a timely site response capability in the event of an issue developing on a site during the mobilisation phase. Management of service providers and contractors onsite including performing inductions and setting to work as required. Manage, administer and ensure compliance with the ESB Safety Rules in operation. This role may involve undertaking various roles within the ESB Safety Rules. Experience and Qualifications Essential The successful candidate will: 5 years' work experience in operation or design or commissioning of electrical equipment/generating plant. Position Description Applications are invited for the position of a HV Stations Designer. There are multiple positions available in both the Northern & Southern Regions. The HV Designer is responsible for providing safe network designs within your discipline. The successful candidate will be an experienced submarine cables engineer who will support the delivery of the Cables package for the offshore export cable and inter-array cable systems for windfarm projects. There will be a particular in the Transport and Installation (T&I) aspects of cable projects in this role. They will work as part of the team to ensure that all technical and commercial elements of the cables packages of the project and interactions with technical advisors/suppliers are managed efficiently, to best industry standards, safely and within budget. The candidate will also be responsible for managing and coordinating the tendering and clarification phase of both export and inter array cables. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, innovative, commercially driven and have a track record of successfully delivering technical design/construction projects and initiatives within ESB. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will cover the items below: Play a lead role in the Submarine Cable related activities for major projects at various stages of the project development cycle. Provision of technical and commercial input into all aspects of the submarine cable manufacturing and installation contracts, including preparation of Employer's Requirements, technical documentation and specifications and tender evaluation. Design reviews of contractor cable system designs and installation methodologies with respect to the Employer's Requirements. Oversee concept refinement and FEED phases of the project. Interface management, cable system engineering, route engineering and technical support during cable installation, jointing, testing and commissioning. Review offshore survey data and provide inputs to the Project Team's overall scrutiny of the contractor's cable burial assessments. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and ensure that all cable related risks are continually assessed, reported and managed in line with the project governance systems. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience Experience in the development of specifications and employers' requirements for major submarine cable projects procurement, installation and testing Experience in subsea surveys and engineering, submarine cable laying and burial campaigns, cable embedment, submersible vehicle operations, vessel positioning and commercial diving procedures. Experience in technical and commercial evaluation of submarine cable packages. Proficient in H&S standards for submarine cable projects. Position Description The MV Substations Design Specialist role within the Underground Networks team is responsible for developing and maintaining design standards, material specifications and functional specifications required for the lifecycle management of the entire underground MV network. The role involves the provision of specialist support to ESB Networks project and customer delivery in their project and fault response work. A key responsibility in the role centres around the governance of ESB Networks MV Substation material, design and construction standards to ensure we maintain a resilient network. The MV Substations Design Specialist also provides, and supports, the development of innovative network design solutions as ESB Networks Asset Management supports the provision of a resilient network than will meet the demand of increased renewable connections to the network along with enabling our customers to transition toward the electrification of heat and transport in the home. Key Responsibilities Develop MV Substations standards & specifications for the full lifecycle of the MV network to ensure all customer connection, system improvement, asset replacement, maintenance and fault response requirements are met.
