  • Overview A leading Credit Union is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Operations . This is a pivotal role within the organisation, crucial to ensuring operational excellence and leading IT across branches and member services. Role Reporting directly to the CEO, the Head of Operations will play a key role in implementing company-wide initiatives connected to the Strategic Vision and have primary responsibility for ensuring strong member services and operational resilience across operations and IT. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership: Ensure the efficient delivery of services across all channels, branches, online, and phone, while driving continuous operational improvements. Risk & Compliance Management: Work closely with Risk & Compliance teams to identify and manage operational risks, ensuring full adherence to legal and regulatory standards. IT Oversight: Guide the IT function to meet operational needs and manage third-party providers Performance Management: Develop and implement processes for continuous performance improvement and member service enhancement. Environmental & Social Governance (ESG): Lead initiatives to reduce the credit union's carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices. Health & Safety: Ensure a safe and compliant working environment across all locations. A third-level qualification in Business, Finance, or a related discipline, or a relevant professional qualification. Experience in an operational management role within the financial services sector. Strong IT and analytical skills, with a track record in problem-solving and process improvement. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with proven success in people management. An understanding of regulatory requirements and experience in managing relationships with regulatory authorities. Proven ability to convert large and complex commercial risks into long‑term clients. Strong technical insurance knowledge across Commercial Lines. Fully compliant with the Central Bank MCC and Fitness & Probity standards. Soft Skills (Must-Have Attributes) Exceptional communication, presentation, and client‑facing ability. A blend of strong account‑management capability with a real passion for winning new business . High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
