Overview Generation Projects within Engineering & Major Projects (E&MP) has been established to develop all generation projects, both renewable and thermal projects, as well as managing overhauls and construction projects. Our projects range from major utility scale offshore and onshore wind farms, to solar PV and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, to flexible generation gas turbine and synchronous condenser projects. This involves working in partnership with Asset Development to develop projects as the business case evolves and progress projects based on risks and opportunities. Projects are expected to be developed from a number of sources, green field, brown field, re-powering, partnerships and acquisition opportunities. Given the differing requirements, E&MP will develop flexible solutions to meet these requirements and is required to adapt to the changing environment of renewable project development. Key Responsibilities We are seeking a dedicated Senior Electrical Engineer to support the delivery of our DSO Site Acquisitions and Planning programme. This multimillion-euro CAPEX programme is to directly deliver new distribution substations to meet ESB’s Net Zero 2040 strategy. The role will require the Senior Electrical Engineer to carry out appropriate technical assessments to support the planning and development of sites for new substation infrastructure, grid connections and associated offloading. Overall responsibility for leading technical meetings to deliver solutions for new network substation infrastructure, high voltage underground cables and overhead lines.
