Key Responsibilities Lead conceptual design of high voltage cable projects and interfaces with substations and overhead line equipment Lead detailed design including cable ratings and bonding systems Conduct due diligence of internal and external designs to ensure compliance with relevant specifications Develop and maintain design risk assessments for all engineering deliverables Mentor and support junior staff development, cultivate technical capability across the group Co-ordinate with internal and external stakeholders to progress projects through all lifecycle stages and governance gates Experience and Qualifications Level 8 Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical or mechanical engineering experience High level of specialist expertise and strong technical capability Proven ability to manage significant projects or key aspects of projects Strong safety awareness and communication skills Valid driver's license for ROI, access to a car, and flexibility to travel nationwide Chartered status or working towards it in a recognized professional institution Experience in utility or linear infrastructure projects, manufacturing or contracting Strong commercial and project management skills Experience in performing the role of designer and / or PSDP on projects Location This position will be based in ESB E&MP’s Offices in Dublin o r Eastgate Cork .
