Ecological Reporting: Prepare high‑quality technical documents, specifically Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Appropriate Assessment (AA) Screening, and Natura Impact Statements (NIS). Legislative Compliance: Provide expert advice on the Habitats Directive, Birds Directive and the Wildlife Acts to ensure projects meet Irish and EU regulatory standards. Mapping & Data Analysis: Use GIS (Geographical Information Systems) software like QGIS or ArcGIS to map habitats (often using the Fossitt classification system) and analyse spatial biological data. Client Liaison: Consult with local authorities, landowners and government bodies such as NPWS, DAFM and OPW. A strong ability to work out on the field with treating invasive plant species as part of the wider Wildlife management team.
