  • Finance Officer  

    - Waterford

    Management Accounting Prepare, manage, and ensure efficient implementation of an annual budget in partnership with the Childcare Manager. Prepare and manage monthly financial reports and Management Accounts (i.e. Fixed Asset Register, Prepayments, Accruals, Petty Cash files, Income Statement, Statement of Financial Position, Payables and Receivables Reconciliations, Bank Accounts and Credit card reconciliation, Statement of Cashflow, VAT etc). Prepare and co-ordinate Pobal Returns in partnership with the Childcare Manager. Create and maintain records and databases with financial and other data as required (petty cash etc). Logging and recording fees received on the appropriate database. Lodging to the bank as required. Coordinate and ensure Fees Policy is efficiently managed. Prepare reconciliations and all related journals and adjustments for management accounts. Working in partnership with the Childcare Manager on the Annual audit process. Manage closure of audit queries. Responsible for the review and adherence of finance policies, procedures and controls. File bills received in the folder and arrange payment through cheque or EFT. Prepares and coordinate VAT refunds and other schemes related to the business. Monitor the Revenue Online Account. Review and approve weekly wages. Prepare bank transfers. Participate in the Finance Committee as required. Assess and implement organisational controls in support of efficient financial management. Perform other financial operational duties as required. Governance Ensure the organisation complies with and meets its legal and statutory requirements. Provide HR Governance oversight to the Childcare manager to ensure that the organisation’s people, HR policies and procedures are managed efficiently and effectively and comply with employment laws and ethical standards. Updating financial and other relevant policies to ensure they are in line with the charity and governance requirements and legislation. Provide a strategic leadership approach to finance and governance including the strategic plan and providing guidance on the strategic direction of the company. Prepare and submit the Annual Return to the Charities Regulator. Design, implement and support the highest quality Governance procedures. Ensure the risk register is updated and steps are taken to mitigate risk in conjunction with the Childcare Manager. Update the Compliance Record Form as part of the Governance Code. #J-18808-Ljbffr
