Industry Director China – Chemicals (Partner)
Overview of the role: Reporting to the China Managing Director, you will sit on the China Leadership team and contribute to building the strategic direction and delivery of the China objectives; and leading the execution of the strategic plan for your Industry. You will play a key role in identifying strategic business opportunities, focusing on delivering excellence to new and existing clients at the C‑suite level, achieving annual revenue targets and defining and implementing strategies for growth. As the Industry Director of China‑Chemicals, you will have the opportunity to significantly impact how leading companies and institutions in the Chemicals sector operate.
What will you do?
Take an active leadership role in delivering the strategic plan for our Chemicals practice and continually grow a diversified engagement pipeline within target accounts.
Manage and enhance client relationships to position the company as a trusted partner.
Identify and pursue additional business opportunities. Innovate the way we execute complex consulting engagements to ensure the project and deliverables meet or exceed the client’s requirements and expectations, delivering superior value to clients.
Lead the Chemicals industry network to develop and share best practices.
Mentor and coach junior colleagues to support their development within the organisation.
Consistently act with integrity and acquire new expertise/skills valuable to the firm as required to remain relevant and competitive.
What we are looking for
Current knowledge of the Chemicals industry, key trends, major players in the market, key risks, challenges and value drivers.
Experience working in a management consulting firm, ideally combined with hands‑on experience in the Chemicals industry.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant industry solutions/best practices in operational risk, operational excellence or sustainability practice lines.
Bring existing relationships with relevant senior leaders/middle managers in targeted Chemicals industry accounts.
Direct experience (>10 years) in delivering growth and key services in transforming companies in the Chemicals segment.
Communicate effectively at the C‑suite level and ability to effectively drive business development/solution development and/or high‑quality delivery of key services.
Demonstrated experience coaching, leading and developing talent.
Entrepreneurial spirit, outcome‑focused, thriving in a fast‑paced, rapidly growing consulting environment.
