    Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is the national charity for people with Down syndrome and their families in Ireland, supporting over 5,000 members across 25 branches nationwide. DSI is dedicated to being Ireland’s primary source of expertise, support and information to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community. We strive to create an environment for people with Down syndrome to achieve their full potential, as equal members in society with full entitlement as Irish citizens. We are currently recruiting for a Digital Communications Officer to join our team based in National Office in Dublin. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator and an expert in all things digital, including creating compelling content for social media, websites and e-newsletters. You will also assist the Fundraising Team to promote fundraising events and campaigns. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and edit the website (WordPress), including improvements and updates Keeping up to date and advising on developments and opportunities in the digital arena Digital content creator and editor for multiple social media channels, including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube Support in creating and issuing the bi-weekly e-newsletter Create and design videos to promote the work of DSI and support fundraising efforts Develop a range of promotional materials and collateral Strong experience in analytical tools such as Meta Insights, Google Analytics and Webmaster Any other duties as designated by the Communications Manager Person Specification/ Required Skills and Knowledge: Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant area Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience in a digital marketing or communications role Excellent writing skills; must have digital copywriting and copy-editing experience Strong experience in using the WordPress CMS platform and all main social media platforms Content production expertise using tools like Photoshop, Canva and video/audio editing tools Expertise in SEO, Google Analytics, AdWords and Meta Ad management Well-developed interpersonal and networking skills to build and maintain key relationships Demonstrate a real passion for social media and digital technology trends Flexibility in work arrangements – occasional out of hours and weekend work An understanding and empathy for the mission and work of Down Syndrome Ireland Location: Unit 3 Park Way House, Western Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin 12 HP70. #J-18808-Ljbffr

    Our Down Syndrome Donegal Branch have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a part time book-keeper with social media engagement/management. Down Syndrome Ireland supports people with Down syndrome and their families in their communities. We strive to provide consistent, high-quality advice, support and information to every person with Down syndrome to ensure that whatever their stage of life they have a network to support them. Our purpose is to create the environment for people with Down syndrome to achieve their potential, with a particular focus on health, education, employment, and life in the community. Down Syndrome Ireland is a confederation of local branches, who work together to ensure consistency, quality and a common approach which celebrates, supports, and advocates for people with Down syndrome. Responsibilities: Undertake book keeping duties to include purchase/sales invoice management Ensure all invoices are posted correctly to the XERO accounting system Process creditor payments and undertake credit control duties Prepare monthly bank reconciliations Assist with the month-end process Assist with statutory annual audit Provide support to the CFO and Branch Treasurer where required Liaise with Down Syndrome Ireland National Office regarding financial queries/requests Additional responsibilities: Social media posting Social media planning Promoting branch activities and events Effectively managing the different channels and ensuring there is a consistent message across our platforms Emails, messaging and scheduling (replying and engagement) Experience Required: 3 years' experience in a similar book-keeping role is essential The ability to work to tight deadlines A focused approach to work with strong attention to detail To be organised and methodical Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Excellent numeracy skills Fluency in spoken and written English Excellent IT skills including Excel, Outlook and strong experience in XERO accounting software (essential) Strong social media skills and knowledge Hours & Location: This is a part time role working 1 day per week (or 7.5 hours per week) based in our branch office, located in Letterkenny. #J-18808-Ljbffr

    The Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch of Down Syndrome Ireland is now recruiting for a part time Branch Administrator to join the Team. We are dedicated to enabling people with Down syndrome to live life to the fullest. We aim to do this throughout their life through social, educational, and developmental activities. Working as a member of the Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch Team, you will be involved in the development and delivery of a dynamic, volunteer led service for the Down Syndrome Community in the county. As Branch Administrator, you will actively engage with members, families, carers, and stakeholders in providing a strong service for our membership. Responsibilities: Act as first point of contact for new members. Service the administration needs of the Branch consistently, involving: dealing with the public, National Office, funders and donors, programme deliverers, etc. Regularly update, organise and expand information and resources to ensure accessibility for members and their families. Liaise with local and national authorities regarding available grants. Build relations with National bodies, including local representatives such as DFI, National Disability Authority, Inclusion Ireland, etc. Support members and families in accessing training both within the branch and externally by providing information, materials, and organising training events. Assist in administrative functions of the Branch. Record queries and report on members' needs, monitor new needs, and report to the Committee. Engage in the promotion of Down Syndrome Waterford & South Kilkenny through positive PR, attendance at events, and other opportunities. Manage the Branch's social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, etc. Provide clerical support to the branch committee, including invitations to training courses for families, mailings, and any other correspondence as delegated. Photocopy, scan, and file documents. Update the management Information System. Undertake bookkeeping duties, including purchase/sales invoice management. Ensure all receipts and payments are recorded correctly and submitted to National Office monthly. Maintain and file all financial documentation correctly. Record all income and expenditure accurately on the appropriate support system. Prepare creditor payments and undertake credit control duties where required. Ensure grant income is recorded and expended appropriately. Support the Branch Treasurer with financial reporting and operations. Liaise with Down Syndrome Ireland National Offices regarding financial queries/requests. Ensure effective safety procedures comply with the Health, Safety and Welfare at Work Act and Down Syndrome Ireland's policies and procedures. Regular travel may be required to attend meetings and events. Perform ad-hoc administration duties as requested by the Committee and National Office. Experience Required: At least 2 years of administration experience, including accounts administration. Strong attention to detail and numerical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Previous experience working with accounts/CRM software is an advantage. Excellent telephone manner. The Branch Administrator will have working relationships with people inside and outside the Branch. It will demand working with the public, members, families, carers, staff, and volunteers of the Branch. Support and guidance will be received on an ongoing basis from the Chairperson and Committee Members. Hours & Location: This is a part-time position working 17.5 hours per week. Ideally, the candidate will work 3.5 hours Monday through Friday, but the role can be based over 4 days. Occasional weekend and evening work will be required to facilitate branch committee meetings and branch social events.
