We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to support a large-scale construction project within a live operational environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring full Health, Safety & Environmental compliance across all construction activities, while driving a strong safety culture and supporting project delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system for all construction activities within a live site environment
Support the safe execution of construction works through effective HSE planning and deliverables
Assist the Project HSE Manager / HSE Director in implementing the Project HSE Programme and ensuring full legal and regulatory compliance
Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans aligned with statutory requirements and international standards (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
Review contractor Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
Support the implementation of corporate HSE management systems, standards, and procedures across the project
Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
Prepare, review, and issue HSE performance reports for internal and external stakeholders
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and monitoring of HSE performance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HSE performance across the project
Deliver site HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and training programmes
Plan and deliver HSE awareness campaigns and events (e.g. Safety Week)
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in HSE roles within Life Sciences or Advanced Manufacturing environments
Strong experience working in construction or live operational site environments
Proven knowledge of PTW systems, RAMS review, and HSE compliance frameworks
Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
Experience in incident investigation and reporting
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and influence safety culture on-site
Qualified to Higher Level Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related discipline
