The Opportunity: Your Role and Impact As a Manager in our Forensic Technology practice, you will be at the forefront of leveraging data to uncover the truth. You will lead high-stakes engagements investigating fraud, bribery, corruption, and other forms of misconduct. About You: Qualifications and Experience We are seeking a highly motivated professional with a passion for problem-solving and a strong technical foundation. Core Experience: Significant experience in forensic data analytics or risk analytics. Proven track record of leading complex projects, preferably in a Big Four, consulting, or large corporate forensic environment. Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in SQL (e.g., T-SQL, PL/SQL) for complex data extraction and manipulation. Experience with Hive Advanced programming skills in Python for data analysis, statistical modelling, and process automation. Hands-on experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Qlik, LookerStudio or Power BI to create impactful dashboards and reports. Experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Hive, Spark, or Presto for querying and processing large-scale distributed datasets. Practical experience applying Generative AI, Machine Learning or Natural Language Processing techniques in an investigative context is highly desirable. Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) is a significant advantage. Exposure to financial crime (AML, Sanctions), fraud investigations, or regulatory compliance is highly desirable. Leadership and Professional Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a practical, hands-on approach. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. About the role Conducting VAT reviews providing opinions on VAT scenarios for clients Researching and analysing a wide range of tax issues and tax implications. Consulting and liaising with clients on matters of compliance, checking schedules and issuing VAT returns Research legislation, case law and technical VAT issues Advising on VAT savings for clients and identifying exposure in respect of VAT Mentoring and guiding juniors team members Supporting the clients internal VAT process and all tasks performed by members of the team such as VAT compliance (VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales), advisory and transformational projects across specified territories Proactively seek to identify opportunities for continuous improvement within the VAT process, to drive efficiency, accuracy and quality of output Provision of indirect tax technical support to the business on proposed commercial transactions and restructurings whilst liaising with cross functional teams and external advisors in this regard Interacting with regional finance functions and external advisors and assisting the local tax team in ensuring all supporting documentation is available and maintained for tax controversy related queries from foreign and Irish Revenue authorities Working with advisors in foreign jurisdictions to monitor and understand changes to both domestic and international VAT rules which could significantly impact on the client business and advising the business on the impact of any changes Involvement in analysing the VAT impact of any merger or acquisition activity within the group and manage the integration of new activities moving into the team as a result of acquisitions and other business changes as necessary Reviewing contracts from a VAT perspective Research legislation, case law and technical indirect tax issues About you: AITI qualified tax professional Comfortable working both independently and as part of a diverse, multi-functional team Prior VAT experience preferably from professional services Excellent client facing, relationship building and business development skills.
