Limerick Company Type: Community Development Organisation Croom Community Development Association (CCDA) Clg Since 1988 Croom Community Development Association has worked in the town and its surrounding area to encourage and support the development of Croom. In the period since it’s inception, Croom has undergone some significant changes. CCDA has worked with Government agencies, charitable organisations, local development companies to bring about change and bridge gaps in service and facility provision, and to improve and enhance the attractiveness of the town.
Employing 6 staff and 18 colleagues who are employed via Croom CE Scheme.
CCDA has ambitious plans to impact the town and surrounding areas working across the community to achieve the best opportunities for the residents and visitors to the town as well as those working locally.

The Role Croom Community Development Association owns and operates
Croom Town Park – 14 acres of Parkland in the centre of Croom. Croom Town Park also incorporates walkways, playground, river slipway and adult exercise machines
Croom Civic Centre – this amenity includes the O’Tuama Room, Offices x2 and is home to Aubergine Restaurant.
Croom Community Centre, Sports Hall and Gym, which is also home to Croom CE Scheme and Foroige
The successful candidate will manage these facilities and oversee a diary of activities that takes place in the various locations.
As GM you will play a central role with the Board in shaping strategy and opportunities, scaling operations, and driving the next phase of growth. This is a broad, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in an SME environment, enjoys wearing multiple hats, and wants to work with the Board, the community and a small team to achieve great things for the community.
You will ensure that strategy translates into execution across all functions. The role will require a balance between meeting the needs of the community while delivering on commercial results and profitability across the different sectors of the organisation. This will involve helping them to achieve targets, margins and budgets as well as creating opportunities for the community.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Growth Partner with the Board to define and execute the organisations term strategy
Help identify new opportunities that are consistent with the goals of CCDA.
Support community engagement, donor strategy, and decision‑making
Translate vision into actionable plans, KPIs, and measurable outcomes
Operational Excellence Oversee day‑to‑day operations across all departments
Ensure alignment, accountability, and performance across the business
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and manage organisational risk.
Financial Management & Commercial Oversight Support the Financial Administrator on budgeting, and forecasting.
Lead budgeting and cost control while enabling growth
Seek out opportunities for funding that will assist in creating opportunities for the community
Complete reports as required by the Board, funders, and regulators.
Communication Represent CCDA across a broad spectrum of stakeholders and fora.
Partner with the Media relations team to communicate across all platforms
Build the organisations profile both locally and online, demonstrating the work being carried out
People Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team
Foster a collaborative, curious and open culture
Support hiring, onboarding, and team development within the constraints of available resources and funding.
Support team members to grow their skills and create learning opportunities for team members
Act as a trusted sounding board to the Board of CCDA, contributing insight, challenge and support
About You You are a commercially astute, an intellectually curious operator who enjoys being close to both strategy and execution. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and excited by the opportunity to help shape a growing, relevant organisation.
You will bring: Senior operational leadership experience, ideally within an SME, community development sector, or hospitality
Strong financial acumen, with hands‑on experience in P&L ownership, budgeting, and forecasting
Experienced in managing and developing small to mid‑sized teams
A strategic mindset paired with a practical, roll‑up‑your‑sleeves approach
Excellent communication skills to engage staff, volunteers and the broader community
Confidence to engage with senior stakeholders, philanthropic organisations, funders and government and local officials
Qualification in Finance, Business or related field.
Ideally with Project Management experience.
Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
