  • CSA Construction Lead

    CSA Construction Lead - Cork based - Hybrid. - C. €75.00 per hour The CSA Construction Lead is assigned to a project as a senior member of the Construction Team with responsibility for the proper and timely construction of the CSA Scope in accordance with all Safety and Quality standards, the detailed design, the control estimate, contract, SOPs, WIs, standards etc. Pre-Construction duties/ responsibilities will involve: Detailed review and liaison with design and client workgroup leads, model reviews. Prepare and lead constructability reviews across every facet of the build. Prepare detailed SOWs for trade contract procurement. Assist in preparation of detailed BOQs. Review returned CSA bids and prepare TBA. Trade and industry knowledge reviews, keeping abreast of developments in the construction industry . Development of detailed execution strategies. Input into CHSP, QA/TO and all other General Construction Requirement documentation. Assist in schedule development, schedule reviews and lead IAPs . The CSA Construction Lead will also provide input for the development of the CSA construction department which will include improving execution procedures, liaising with the CSA Design department leads, and managing and developing CSA construction resources across the project. Ensures that the construction phase of the projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified and experienced personnel, together with all the necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities and other resources. Develops best in class site execution SOPs as guidance to the Field Supervisors Complies with the Jacobs construction methods, procedures and practices in all respects, particularly those relating to safety, quality assurance, personnel and industrial relations; where these are found to be inadequate immediately reports the deficiencies and suggests solutions. Ensures that the applicable statutory and other legal requirements are properly observed. Understands the implications of the Health and Safety at Work Act and Regulations as they affect the responsibilities of employees. Keeps abreast of developments in the construction industry and assists in ensuring that capability continues to develop and excel. Ensures that the projects are constructed to the drawings, specifications, applicable standards, good construction practices, to schedule and in accordance with the cost budget. Directs and controls the activities of the assigned staff and their functions Carries out assessments and appraisals of the staff and reports the results in accordance with best practice. Determines the needs for supervisor training for proper execution of the project under construction and makes recommendations accordingly. Ensure best technology available and ensuring innovative ideas are encouraged. Ensuring lessons learned on projects are recorded and shared. Adheres to best policies for the employment of labour and ensures that all matters concerning labour relations are dealt with in accordance with the labour agreements. C. €70.00 per hour The Mechanical Construction Supervisor is a crucial role within the Engineering Service Provider Team to ensure successful Construction completion on multiple concurrent projects on a live pharmaceutical site. Working in a highly regulated and cGMP environment within the pharmaceutical industry, the Mechanical Construction Supervisor will report directly to the Construction Lead. This is a site based role in Carrigaline, Co. Cork. THE PROJECT The Project involves the provision of technical advice and other services to support the clients requirements in connection with electrical vehicle charging infrastructure (EVCI) and alternative fuels (AF) infrastructure. These requirements are driven by the applicable national and EU regulations and good practise. It also involves the provision of contract administration services under the core contract. The services provided include the following: I. Providing electrical, civil and services preliminary design advice in relation to EVCI at the clients Motorway Service Areas (MSAs), including EV charging equipment, layouts, drainage, ducting, parking bays, access roads and footways; II. Preliminary assessments and scheme design of options available to the client in relation to EVCI installations and upgrades; III. Carrying out research into EVCI and AF technology and providing current and informed advice to the client; IV. Studying of ESB Networks electricity grid capacity data to advise the client on potential electricity supply issues at their MSA sites; V. Promoting and monitoring energy optimisation initiatives with the operators of the clients MSAs and other sites. VI. Providing information in support of planning applications for EVCI installations and upgrades; VII. Administration and monitoring of service contracts including checking of key documentation deliverables and the carrying out of periodic audits and checks on existing tunnel and motorway service area facility systems and operations; and VIII. THE ROLE The individual will work as part of a small core team, drawing on specialists and experts from various disciplines as required . The role will primarily provide assistance to the Senior Technical Project Manager, as well as assistance with other tasks for the other core team members. The individual will ideally have 5+ years experience, preferably in electrical power or energy engineering, or other relevant discipline for transportation systems. Excellent written communication skills, proficiency in engineering design software and general office software are essential, and a good understanding of project management techniques would be helpful. Some experience in a contract administration role, ideally in the highway, transportation or construction industries would be preferred. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The successful candidate should meet the following minimum requirements: A level eight qualification recognised by the National Framework of Qualifications/Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), or other equivalent qualification in electrical power or energy engineering, or other relevant discipline for transportation systems. 5 years post-graduate experience in working with infrastructural or energy projects. Ideally, the candidate would have experience working on electrical/mechanical systems projects and in the design and operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities.
