Trim Community Childcare are seeking an Afterschool Assistant who will assist in developing, managing and evaluating an afterschool program for 45 children that supports and enhances the children’s development, social-emotional learning, and academics. Meath Reporting to: Trim Childcare Manager Duties and Responsibilities: Develop an engaging afterschool programme that will be creative and innovative for children. Develop activities appropriate to child’s age and development. Ensure implementation of high-quality programs that are responsive to children and families. Provide reports where necessary. Foster self-esteem, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Create an atmosphere of safety, belonging, and positive development for each child. Be self-motivating and enthusiastic in carrying out the duties. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required: Candidates should hold a qualification in Youth and Community Work or experience in a similar area. Valid First Aid Certificate. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in youth work/childcare. Excellent knowledge and experience of working to the Childcare Regulations essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
