Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups. Your eligibility will have to be verified by the Department.

Job Description
Duties
This is a developmental opportunity, no experience necessary. Accredited training will be provided to support your career.
Carry out small repairs and complete minor home/gardening tasks for older people who are clients of the Kildare Small Jobs Service (2 Positions).
Assess and carry out minor maintenance/repairs – e.g., clean windows, move furniture, change light bulbs, hang curtains, take items down from the attic, install security chains/locks, install non‑wired smoke alarms, minor paint and touch‑up decorating jobs.
Assess and carry out minor gardening – e.g., mow lawns, pot plants, clear pathways, weed.
Ensure the relevant equipment/materials are used.
Complete relevant paperwork.
Ensure compliance with health & safety guidelines and policies/procedures.
Compile with all Kildare Small Jobs policies and procedures, including those for use of the company vehicle, phone, etc.
Work with the Kildare Small Jobs administration staff on a daily basis.
Assist with the handling of customer queries.
Attend meetings and training courses where necessary.
Be helpful, friendly and respectful when dealing with clients.
Report any concerns about the health, well‑being or living conditions of clients to the CE Supervisor.
Take part in regular mentoring/supervision sessions with the CE Supervisor.
Maintain a flexible approach to all aspects of the job and undertake other duties as required/requested by the CE Supervisor.
Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications
No specific qualifications necessary as full training will be provided. Previous maintenance, repair & gardening experience would be an asset. A full clean driving licence is required, category B. The candidate will ideally demonstrate a friendly caring approach with good phone manner, have good organisational skills and have some handyperson/repair/DIY/gardening/household skills.
