The Clifden Station House is a full service hotel with 78 bedrooms, two full service restaurants and bars, a large leisure centre, 16 self-catering apartments and a theatre and museum on site This is a unique opportunity to take the helm of a landmark destination hotel and make a lasting impact. Your job will be to develop and manage a high-performing team, deliver the highest quality standards and ensure an outstanding guest experience About the Role As General Manager, you will be responsible for the full operational management of the hotel. You will champion guest satisfaction and drive financial performance. Reporting to the hotel board, you will be accountable for delivering business goals while maintaining the warm hospitality and high standards that define the Clifden Station House Hotel. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Ensure the guest experience is always of the highest standard Manage the entire food and beverage team, ensuring the highest quality experience and profit margins are delivered Manage and lead the housekeeping, maintenance, leisure centre and front desk teams Provide all operational support to ensure revenue management and sales targets are aligned Represent the hotel at marketing, sales, industry and local events Drive continuous improvement in service, efficiency, and profitability. Ensure all property management, maintenance and statutory obligations are completed Financial & Operational Oversight Deliver strong cost control, revenue growth, and profitability across all departments. Review and analyse key performance metrics, adjusting tactics to ensure success. Maintain full compliance with health, safety, licensing, and employment regulations. Team Development Lead, support, and mentor department heads and staff to ensure high engagement and performance. Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and guest-centered service. Deliver recruitment, training, and development strategies to build a strong team. Serve as a visible and approachable leader, creating a welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. The Clifden Station House Hotel is seeking a highly motivated Accommodation Manager to lead our housekeeping team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our bedrooms, apartments, public areas, and back of house spaces. About the Role As Accommodation Manager, you will ensure that our guests enjoy a spotless and comfortable environment. You will lead and inspire a team of approximately 20 staff, maintain the highest cleanliness standards, and manage the department’s budgets and resources efficiently. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Recruit, roster, train, and manage the Accommodation Team to deliver exceptional results. Plan and organize workloads to maximize productivity and maintain standards. Ensure staff uniforms are well-maintained and presented professionally. Operational Excellence: Oversee housekeeping operations across all guest rooms, apartments, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. Inspect premises daily to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization. Coordinate with Reception to plan room allocations for both the Hotel and Apartments. Address and resolve customer complaints professionally and courteously. Financial and Resource Management: Manage the accommodation department’s budget, control costs, and monitor productivity. Handle stock management, including ordering supplies and managing linen returns. Adapt to changes in business levels to ensure cost efficiency while maintaining standards. Policy Implementation: Implement and oversee HR policies related to recruitment, grievance and discipline, performance appraisals, and staff communication. What We’re Looking For Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry. Strong leadership and organisational skills. Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and costs.
