  • Site R&D Technologist

    ROLE OVERVIEW The Site R&D Technologist is a key part of the Industrialisation & Value Creation Team within our R&D function. The core purpose of this role is to scale new products to full manufacturing and improve profitability through reformulation and process optimization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Site R&D Technologist will be broadly responsible for Troubleshooting product and process deviations Reformulation substitutions maintain quality Cost improvement projects with procurement and operations The day-to-day role will include the following but will extend to all activity needed to fulfil the key responsibilities above. Plan, conduct and document product and process trials, including full measurement, SOP adherence, analysis of results, and clear next-step recommendations. Reformulate, implement and optimize recipes to meet nutrition, palatability, and manufacturing requirements in collaboration with product development and innovation teams Provide technical support for customer requests, presentations, and queries related to formulations on site Coordinate with cross-functional teams (operations, procurement, engineering and site quality) to ensure manufacturability compliance, and timely project delivery Manage site activities and maintenance of the site product portfolio PERSONAL COMPETENCIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Food science/Nutritionist/ Food Engineer qualification or equivalent. Excellent communication skills - both oral and written - and the ability to work with cross functional teams and departments. Good organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Problem solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work to tight deadlines in a rapidly changing environment. A logical and investigative mind. Food science and nutritional awareness both from a legislative, regulatory and best practice perspective i.e. food safety, hygiene, nutritional requirements.   • Reliability Engineering Manager

C&D Foods' Headquarters is in Mullingar, county Westmeath. At our C&D Foods site in Edgeworthstown we are currently inviting applications for the role of Reliability Engineering Manager to support our operations onsite. This role will focus on site equipment improvements in reliability and efficiencies, reducing the equipment downtimes, increasing equipment availability and reducing the cost of ownership of the equipment ultimately reducing the site cost per tonne. Key Responsibilities Work cross functionally to develop and implement a strategic asset reliability plan supporting both corrective and preventative maintenance for your area meeting all Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Sustainability goals are met. Lead, coach and manage a team of Area leads and PPM maintenance technicians for your plant/ to provide optimum equipment reliability to support the manufacturing operations. Builds skills capability across the Plant technical/engineering team to engage with latest modern practices. Provide leadership, coaching to engineering team towards implementation of Integrated Lean 6 sigma ways of working: delivering zero breakdowns via preventive/predictive maintenance strategies Including PM (Progressive Maintenance), CBM (condition-based monitoring), Visual controls & tools Mgmt., Lubrication mgmt. & Calibration of equipment(s), Breakdown / root cause analysis etc. Interface with key stakeholders internally and externally to develop and maintain effective relationships, align priorities to deliver the company objectives, and goals. Conduct regular equipment inspections and assessments to identify potential reliability issues and develop strategies to mitigate them. Analyse equipment failure data to identify trends and patterns and develop strategies to improve equipment reliability. Lead Breakdown analysis and root cause analysis investigations to identify the underlying causes of equipment failures and develop effective corrective actions. Develop and implement predictive maintenance strategies to proactively identify and address potential equipment failures. Personal Competencies & Qualifications: Engineering Degree (Mechanical/Electrical/Production/Manufacturing) Extensive experience of high-volume manufacturing Extensive experience of Continuous Improvement Data collection and analytic skills using Manufacturing intelligence systems Excellent communication (verbal & written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment. Demonstrated abilities in Data Analytics, problem solving and team building. Strong people management skills with the ability to drive change.
