  • Senior Accounts Payable Assistant

    About the Role As subject matter expert, or SME, you will possess a deep understanding of being an accounts payable assistant. You will be the first point of contact for all Account Payable Processors within your team. The subject in question can be anything, such as the daily job, process, software solution, historical information, and more. As a subject matter expert, you will have collected your knowledge through your professional experience since being an Accounts Payable Processor. The SME will have a level of understanding regarding their subject that is not common knowledge, making yourself valuable to the team. Key Accountabilities Responsible for the processing of invoices and the issuing of payments. Play an important role in the efficient operation of C&C Group by maintaining financial records and assisting with the overall operation of your organization’s finance department. 1st point of contact for all team queries related to the daily tasks of the role. Implement best practice and procedures within the department and suggest improvements to improve quality of output, speed of processing and enhanced service to our suppliers. Ensure that all purchase ledger activities including processing of expenses, supplier invoices and credit notes, debit balances and supplier statement reconciliations are performed daily. Check and authorise the payment run schedules before submitting for payment. Plan, manage and develop work practices and relationships with Tennent Caledonian Breweries UK Limited and Magners GB suppliers. Check and approve additions and changes to the Supplier Master File, ensuring that they are appropriately authorised and conform to current procedures. Manage and maintain SoftCo queues. Provide ad-hoc reports and management information on supplier activity. Complete any ad hoc tasks or projects requested by the Accounting Services Team Leader. About You: As an SME, you'll be able to demonstrate key skills: JDE knowledge. Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent Communication, People and Influencing skills. Numerate and meticulous. Experience and Qualifications Experience in an accounting services role in a large and highly computerised, multi-site organisation. Purchase ledger experience, particularly of the payment and statement reconciliation procedures and controls. Possession of a counterbalance or reach forklift truck license is desirable for warehouse replenishment.     About the Role Day to day management of a robust inventory control system for the Clonmel Depot. Ensuring a high standard of inventory control, data accuracy and systems integrity to support depot operation, quality, health and safety and cost service targets. The role will liaise closely and build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to help implement a best in class service. Key Accountabilities Overall management of all the Annerville inventory control operation and systems Maintain inventory accuracy to >99.9% Implementation of industry best practice on a consistent basis across all aspects of inventory control operations. Ensure that there is active monitoring of all areas of the organisation where there is potential for inventory errors to take place and have the controls in place to rectify issues when they do arise. Running various reports to aid decision making regarding pallet storage/ inventory issues. Improving the pallet utilisation in warehouse areas. Combing part pallets where required. Clearing, investigating and reconciling stock returns Development of weekly cycle-counting processes to ensure accuracy of stocks on AS400. Ensure business confidence in AS400 stock balances. Conducting Month-End counts. Assisting external warehouses for outsourced storage ensuring that inventory controls are applied and maintained. Training and development in Inventory Control systems as required. Required to undertake all warehouse operative functions as the operation demands. About you Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels, ensuring information is delivered and understood. Ability of driving change, through positive communication, employee involvement and forward planning. Ability to deliver under pressure and flexibility within time management to ensure business needs are met. Able to challenge at all levels, using appropriate manner and behaviour to encourage positive change. Good problem solving and analytical skills. Resolution of operational issues.
