  • About the Role As a CBRE Calibration Technician, you will calibrate and adjust equipment in accordance with the customer and requirements. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You'll Do Perform calibrations and adjustments for numerous calibration devices, typically in the temperature, humidity, pressure, physical dimensional, torque, force, and electrical disciplines. Maintain proper documentation, which includes but is not limited to the metrology database, calibration certificates, equipment history forms, timesheets, and automated calibration software. Conduct self-studies to improve and maintain technical proficiency in calibration theory, methods, and equipment. Communicate to customers as it relates to the progress of the testing, repair, and services. Accompany senior staff members to locations and calibrate equipment on-site.     Job Title: Data Centre Shift Lead Technician Location: Dublin Campus Commence Date: Immediate Work Times: 12‑hour shift (days and nights) Purpose of Job The Shift Lead Technician will work as part of an operational team to support the critical environment 24/7/365. The shift lead will manage the shift team, who are responsible for the monitoring, escalation, emergency response and operation of critical services within the data centre environment. The shift team will operate out of the central facilities operation centre and will ensure all aspects of the facility are covered and monitored during their shift. The Shift team will also work alongside the day operations team to align CE equipment through Electrical or Mechanical switching activities to facilitate break/fix and planned preventive maintenance (PM) activities across the campus. Responsibilities Be the main point of contact on the shift for the client and CBRE management. Monitor all critical systems across campus from the central facilities operation centre and ensure all incidents are escalated and responded to as per the Runbook and SLA metrics. Supervise the central facilities operation centre and the shift team during your shift rotation. Monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in critical facility systems using recognised escalation tools and EOPs. Work collaboratively with the Shift Supervisors to stabilise affected systems during incident response, remaining the incident owner and closing out the incident upon satisfactory completion. Provide detailed status reports during incidents through agreed channels. Ensure all incident notifications are up to date during your shift and properly closed out as per site procedures when the task is completed. Stay abreast of changes and improvement initiatives led by CBRE and the client. Be fully conversant with the facility Emergency Response Plan, EOPs, and act as the shift liaison with the security team during site emergencies. Provide a detailed shift handover report to the incoming shift team, supported by verbal handover covering all aspects of facility operation. Have a full awareness of all activities in conjunction with the day tech team. Train in the operation of all critical facility systems across the campus as outlined in the site‑specific CBRE training syllabus (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, Fire and Controls). Assist the day tech team in shutting down/start‑ups of equipment as per site operational procedures to support all PM/CM activities carried out by the PM Team or vendors. Ensure all shift team members use the CMMS correctly to report all facility‑related tasks; all technician time must be accounted for and recorded. Foster a culture of professional development through mentoring team members and maintaining a lessons‑learned and feedback repository with fellow shift leads and supervisors. Lead and manage your team's technical and personal development and appraisals within contract and CBRE policy constraints, providing detailed reports to CBRE management. Author, peer‑review, approve or carry out periodic reviews of all operational documentation (including EOPs, drills, etc.) as issued by the Technical Manager. Ensure a shift audit is carried out on all critical systems within the central facilities operation centre—BMS, EPMS, Fireworks, etc.—at shift end. Mentor your shift team to progress through all on‑site training requirements. Carry out drills and complete toolbox talks as per KPI tracker. Adhere to all quality, health & safety, and environmental policies on site. Keep the central facilities operation centre and all work areas clean and tidy at all times. Take the lead in onboarding and training new staff members on your shift. Qualifications and Experience A fully verifiable trade qualification in a relevant engineering discipline and additional relevant training. Understanding of low‑voltage power distribution and loading; previous data centre or similar lab experience desirable. Excellent knowledge and experience of electrical and mechanical systems used in a data centre environment (feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS, battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, chillers, air‑handling and CRAC units, fire alarm and suppression systems). Experience with complex automatic control equipment, including relay logic, PLCs, BMS, and their integration with data centre infrastructure. Experience with medium‑voltage distribution systems and associated switchgear and protection equipment. Strong oral and written communication skills, capable of communicating intelligently and effectively with clients and contractors. Computer literate with ability to compile and submit monthly and annual reports, and monitor and trend operational characteristics (load, capacity, environmental conditions). Proficient with Microsoft Office. Ability to learn quickly and to gain maximum benefit from extensive training and development programs, addressing knowledge gaps in the short term.
