  • Role description: The Health & Safety Officer will play a key, hands-on role in ensuring long term, & day-to-day, safe, compliant, and proactive health and safety practices at Castolin Eutectics Ireland Ltd. Working at our manufacturing plant, focused on the development of welding equipment, the role involves managing risk assessments, developing and delivering training, maintaining training records, and ensuring compliance with all HSE and HSA requirements. This role also plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing team, in line with regulatory practices. Success in this role requires practical involvement, strong & proactive communication, a commitment to continuous improvement, and close collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager, Procurement Manager, People & Compliance Manager, Factory Director and wider team to deliver safe, efficient and customer-focused production operations. Key Responsibilities Conduct and maintain comprehensive risk assessments across the manufacturing plant. Develop, implement, and deliver health and safety training programs for all staff. Maintain accurate and up-to-date training and compliance records. Ensure correct use, availability, and monitoring of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ensure full compliance with all Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations. Carry out regular safety audits, inspections, and workplace monitoring. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, implementing corrective actions. Promote and embed a strong safety culture throughout the organisation. Qualifications & Experience Required: Level 8 degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline. Proven experience writing and maintaining risk assessments in a manufacturing/ similar environment. Strong working knowledge of HSE and HSA legislation and compliance requirements. Experience delivering health and safety training and managing training records. Desirable Experience working in a manufacturing environment involved in the development of welding equipment. Experience handling materials and chemicals such as nickel, cobalt, chromium, and similar substances. Relevant professional health and safety certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
