Fantastic opportunity for an aspiring investment risk professional to support the valuation management strategy in Carne Group - the premier provider of Fund-Management solutions to asset managers across the world. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Valuations Associate, supporting the Valuations team in overseeing risk, valuations, and compliance responsibilities across all funds managed by Carne. This role requires a strong understanding of risk management principles and valuation methodologies, the ability to analyze complex financial data, and effective communication skills to present findings to stakeholders. The candidate should be highly organized, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work collaboratively within a team. Minimum Requirements 3rd level degree in finance, mathematics, economics, or a related field. Interest in or currently completing a professional qualification such as FRM, CFA, or CAIA. Knowledge of financial modeling, valuation techniques, industry standards, and regulations. Experience in the fund industry focusing on risk management, valuations, or investment analysis is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Familiarity with Bloomberg, MSCI RiskMetrics, Python, Power BI is advantageous. Roles and Responsibilities Support risk management activities, including monitoring risk exposures and compliance of funds to ensure alignment with investment objectives and regulatory restrictions. Generate risk reports for fund boards and management to support governance and oversight. Assist senior team members in managing internal and external queries, including reviews with Investment Managers. Help establish, document, and monitor risk and valuation procedures. Assist in preparing and reviewing valuations from Investment Managers and Third Party Valuers, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Develop understanding of regulatory reporting requirements such as AIFMD and UCITS for various fund strategies. Address material risk issues promptly by escalating to appropriate authorities. Collaborate across jurisdictions and teams on ongoing projects. Support the development of Carne’s proprietary Risk Analytics system, Curator. Required Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and market trends.
