Overview We are currently seeking a Chemical Engineer to join our Quality team at Breedon Cement, Kinnegad, Kilaskillen, Co Westmeath. As a Chemical Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of our products is maintained to the highest possible standard. Key Responsibilities Monitor Quality Control systems and equipment performance. Lead on Quality Management System Product Certification. Analyse and report Quality Control compliance data against target values. Responsible for ensuring the prompt and satisfactory submission of specified reports. Liaise with Quality Manager on a daily basis and feedback any observations/recommendations W.R.T. process performance. Develop and utilises skills in the following areas to positively impact Business Performance Cement Manufacturing Process Cement Kiln Process Chemistry Cement Quality Control Systems Sustainability related duties Lead on feasibility studies on improvement projects with emphasis on improving production cost and quality. Lead on Quality department projects. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Degree in Chemical Engineering or science qualification. 3 – 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Desirable Attributes Apart from the educational qualification the ideal candidate should possess the below traits/competencies: Excellent problem solver with ability to understand complex problems and communicate effectively. Key Responsibilities Monitoring process KPIs and evaluating operations to identify areas for improvement in production cost and quality. Conducting feasibility studies on improvement projects and providing recommendations to senior management. Regularly evaluating process performance against recognised benchmarks, including equipment reliability, fuel consumption, electrical efficiencies, and quality control.
