Overview Senior Grade Medical Scientist – Specified purpose contract, full‑time position in our Histology Department at Bon Secours Hospital Tralee. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Grade Medical Scientist working within a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities Perform histological analyses as a Senior Grade Medical Scientist. Work independently and collaboratively within the department. Participate in the on‑call rota. Qualifications Registered on the Medical Scientists Register maintained by the Medical Scientists Registration Board at CORU, or satisfy the conditions set out in Section 91 of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (proof of application for registration with CORU to be provided). Level 9 post‑graduate qualification or equivalent, validated at Level 9 by the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine. Four years full‑time clinical experience as a Medical Scientist in Histology within a Medical Laboratory. Good knowledge and understanding of Joint Commission International and experience in INAB accreditation to ISO 15189 desirable. Flexible and capable of working independently and as part of a team in a multidisciplinary department. IT skills essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
