IT Technician (Limerick/Galway Hospital) Full-time (35 hours per week) | 2-year fixed term contract with potential pathway to permanency The Purpose of This Role: Reporting to the Hospital IT Business Services Manager, the IT Technician will provide valuable support to all users of the Group's Information Technology Systems, enabling an enhanced IT culture across the Health System. This role, based in Limerick, involves providing IT support across the Limerick and Galway region. The successful candidate will primarily work on site across both locations during the week to support operational needs and ensure effective collaboration with teams. Candidate Criteria: Qualifications Leaving Cert Certificate in IT Discipline Key Responsibilities: Act as first level support and monitor the Limerick/Galway hospital IT helpdesk, to resolve all logged incidents as appropriate. Act as a user advocate and liaise between business/clinical users and IT technical staff. Develop a full knowledge of all Hospital Information Systems. Carry out standard PC Tech Duties, backups, data recovery and user admin (passwords, new users etc.). Apply security access for new and existing users on Domain and application systems. Build, troubleshoot and configure IT and Communications Hardware as required, following the procedure outlined in the respective IT installation documents. Install and configure software and drivers. Ensure security updates and patches are up to date on all hardware. Ensure IT security policies are followed and upheld at all times. Assist with new software installations in conjunction with the participation/knowledge of the Group Systems Administrator Actively develop documentation for the IT knowledge base. Assist in the production/review of IT project documentation and Standard Operating Procedures. Monitor vendor SLAs and vendor logs that require IT staff/end users' response and follow up on them. Participate as a member of the IT on-call rota. Assist in resolving emergency issues that occur outside of normal working hours. Participate in scheduled system maintenance and upgrades outside of normal working hours as required. Ensure conformance to all IT SOPs and participate in training as required. Participate in IT projects as directed by your Line Manager/Head of Service. Role will be based in Limerick, however, travel to other sites is required.
