  • Laboratory Information System Manager Part Time (21 hours/week) - Permanent Contract Bon Secours Hospital Cork is part of the Bon Secours Health System which is the largest independent hospital group in Ireland with over 2,500 staff including 350 leading consultants. The group has launched a groundbreaking clinical transformation project which at its completion will connect its entire hospital network using one electronic healthcare record (EHR). This new system will improve patient safety, enhance clinical care, increase operational efficiency and revolutionise patient experience. The current Laboratory Information System (LIS) at BSH Cork will be replaced as part of this project. We are seeking a Laboratory Information System Manager (LISM) to serve as a crucial link between laboratory operations, IT teams, and vendors, ensuring the secure, efficient operation of software that manages patient samples and diagnostic data. This senior role will oversee system configuration, database integrity, user access, and seamless integration with Electronic Health Records (EHR).Applications are invited for the above position from suitably qualified and experienced candidates. The ideal candidates must: Possess a Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, Health Informatics or a related area. Ideally will possess an NFQ Level 9 post graduate qualification in Clinical Laboratory Science, Health Informatics or a related area. Possess at least 4 years' experience in a Medical Scientist or Clinical Biochemist role or significant experience working with a Laboratory Information System. Demonstrate experience of handling/troubleshooting Laboratory Information Systems as relevant to the role. Demonstrate evidence of strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Databases. Demonstrate an organised, methodical and structured approach to work including the ability to multitask, meet deadlines and work within Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrate leadership and team management skills including the ability to work with multidisciplinary team members. An awareness of the importance of compliance with regulatory standards including ISO 15189 and JCI Accreditation Standards for Hospitals.   • Job Title: Endoscopy Decontamination Technician Reports to: Decontamination Lead Service Relationship: Technician Location: Bon Secours Hospital, Dublin Endoscopy Department. Job Purpose: To assist in the decontamination of reusable medical devices for use in the Endoscopy Suite. The delivery of Patient Care under the direction and supervision of the CNM/Team Leader including the planning and organising of the daily workflow of the CSSD team. The fundamental philosophy guiding this position is to promote and preserve the Bon Secours Mission, Values and Ethos. Key Duties and Responsibilities Collect and transport used medical devices from user areas. Clean trolleys and storage shelves, AERs and all other equipment within the department to required standard and best practice guidelines. Decontaminate used medical devices using mechanical and manual methods. Track N Trace Medical devices as required. Inspect and function test devices reporting any discrepancies or faults. Assemble and pack devices for theatre, wards and departments including Vac pack. Decontaminate and issue medical devices in accordance with relevant procedures. Deliver processed devices to end-users in a timely manner Deliver processed devices to end user. Assist with stock control and requisitioning. Maintain records where appropriate in line with department policy. Comply with Health & Safety Regulations and ensure safe working practices. Implement quality standards ensuring that a quality service is always provided. Undertake any other duties that may be required by the unit or manager. Participate in completing and collecting data for audits. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Leaving Certificate and be prepared to study for Certificate in Science NFQ Level 6 in Decontamination of Reusable Invasive Medical Devices or FETAC Level 5 Healthcare support Certificate DIT CPD in medical device decontamination.
