  • Logistics Foreperson

    Logistics Foreperson – Plant Team, Kildare, Ireland Central role for the safe, efficient and well organised running of the Plant yard, supporting the wider operational delivery of our projects across the country. Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate all housekeeping and stocktake activities within the Plant yard, ensuring high standards of organisation and presentation are maintained at all times. Liaise with the Transport Manager regarding all on‑hires and off‑hires entering or leaving the Plant yard, ensuring movements are properly planned and recorded. Organise the loading and off‑loading of parts and materials moving in and out of the Plant yard, prioritising safety and operational efficiency. Book in plant and materials through the online system, maintaining accurate and up to date records. Inspect the condition of plant on receipt and dispatch, reporting any defects through the system in line with company procedures. Complete weekly and fortnightly safety checklists required for the yard, escalating any issues to the Plant Operations Manager. Coordinate with site management teams and drivers to plan deliveries and collections, ensuring site requirements are met on time. Monitor the 12‑week inspections, repairs and DOE tests for all HGVs to ensure full compliance, working closely with the HGV Fitter Foreperson. Carry out any other Plant yard duties necessary for the daily running of the yard, as directed by the Plant Operations Manager. Requirements Proven experience in logistics, plant yard operations, transport coordination, or a similar role within construction, civil engineering, or a comparable operational environment. Working knowledge of HGV compliance requirements, including DOE testing, statutory inspections, and 12‑week maintenance cycles. Familiarity with online plant and materials management systems, with strong administrative accuracy. Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy operational setting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with site teams, drivers, fitters, suppliers and senior managers.
