Job Description We currently have an exciting opportunity for an outgoing, organised and passionate individual to join our busy Reservations team. This full‑time position works 5 days over 7 days on a shift basis between 8:00 am and 7:30 pm. The role is part of a five‑member team and involves working in a friendly environment. Responsibilities Welcome guests on arrival to Ballyfin with the Butlers, meet from car at front of steps, welcome into the house, offer hand towels and arrival drinks. Give them a brief tour of the reception rooms, explain meal times and dining options, show into lunch if required. Show guests to bedrooms if/when their room is ready for check‑in. Draft the daily meeting sheet for the 11:30 am meeting with information relevant to all departments. Check rooms in on the system when they are in‑house and verify that all room rates are correct. Check room bills for departure that day and ensure no errors. Arrange all guest requests seamlessly, anticipating requirements to maintain a memorable stay at Ballyfin. Handle telephone and email enquiries. Deal with individual and group reservations, and occasionally conduct tours of the property as required. Update files ensuring that all correspondence is up to date and deposits and guarantees are collected and accounted for. Ensure that all relevant data is collected in advance of the guest visit and communicated to relevant department heads. Retrieve and process reservations from hotel and third‑party websites. Prepare group and individual bills. Welcome guests, including rooming guests, providing luggage assistance and orienting them to the house. Qualifications Attention to detail is a must. Previous experience in a similar position is preferable. Good knowledge of Excel, Word, email and hotel operating systems. Excellent telephone manner and engaging personality. Reservations skills.
