Job Description Location: Ashdale Care, Monaghan Area Ashdale Care has been providing Residential Care and supports for children and young people across the North‑East of the country for over 20 years. We support children and young people who are unable to live at home and who present with a range of behavioural, emotional and psychological difficulties. Most of our young people have experienced significant developmental trauma in their lives. Our service is child‑centred and uses a comprehensive, evidence‑based, programmatic approach (CARE), with additional support provided by our in‑house Therapeutic Support Team, which consists of Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Art Therapists, Teachers, and Behaviour Therapists. The Occupational Therapist will work as an integral part of the Multidisciplinary Therapeutic Support Team, supporting our children and young people to achieve their potential in all areas of their lives. Working within a Model of Therapeutic Support that is informed by Developmental Trauma, Neurosequential Approach and Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI), the role of the occupational therapist will include: participating in the completion and development of comprehensive trauma and attachment informed assessments and trauma informed support plans for children and young people; contributing to the development of holistic, clinical formulations to facilitate the provision of effective support; consulting and collaborating with social care teams in our homes to provide on‑site support, training and advice to colleagues; as well as direct trauma based occupational therapy interventions.
