In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with experts to drive the physical design of high-speed microprocessors utilizing advanced CMOS technologies. Key Responsibilities Drive the design and implementation of large design blocks from initial concept through to tape-out. Execute synthesis for high-speed designs and lead the Place and Route processes while meticulously analyzing design results for optimization. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including RTL/Logic designers, to facilitate seamless integration and problem resolution. Preferred Skills Understanding of Logic Design and Synthesis, with practical experience in Timing Closure, Circuit Design, Electrical Closure, and Memory Compiler workflows. Proficiency in RTL architecture, microarchitecture, Physical Design CAD tools, and scripting languages (such as Perl and Python). In-depth understanding of high-speed microprocessor designs and architectures, along with current sub-micro technologies. The role leads the team to improve employee experience, ensure ER operational excellence and compliance, while improving HR efficiency. The position reports into Corporate Vice President of Global HR Shared Services and is a member of HR Shared Services Leadership team. This leadership role manages a team of 5-7 employees (including managers and individual contributors) across the region. SENIOR STAFF SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER The AMD SerDes team in Ireland is hiring for a SMTS level Analog Circuit Design Engineer to work on SerDes products up to 200+Gbps on the latest CMOS FinFET nodes. The AMD team have extensive experience in the design of circuits for the high‑speed transmission and recovery of data over wired links, including: High‑speed (100GSps+) data converters for signal recovery (ADC) and transmit signal conditioning (DAC) Continuous‑time equalizers with programmable gain and bandwidth up to 60+ GHz Wide‑range, low‑noise PLLs operating up to 20+ GHz Injection‑locked oscillators for multi‑phase clock generation High‑speed clock distribution and correction circuits Custom digital circuits for data serialisation High‑speed wired channel termination and driver circuits The successful candidate will work with a world‑class team developing SerDes solutions to facilitate the future connectivity of AMD CPU, GPU and FPGA products. The Role The role requires the development of high‑speed and high‑performance analog circuits with the lowest power possible. The candidate is expected to have extensive experience in the design and verification of analog circuits and systems, and to be familiar with layout floor‑planning, layout‑dependent effects and post‑layout verification. SENIOR STAFF SILICON DESIGN ENGINEER The AMD SerDes team in Ireland are hiring for an SMTS level Analog Circuit Design Engineer to work on SerDes products up to 200+Gbps on the latest CMOS FinFET nodes. The AMD team have extensive experience in the design of circuits for the high speed transmission and recovery of data over wired links, including High-speed (100GSps+) data Converters for signal recovery(ADC) and transmit signal conditioning(DAC) Continuous Time Equalisers with programmable gain and B/W up to 60+GHz Wide-range, low-noise PLLs operating up to 20+GHz Injection Locked Oscillators for multi-phase clock generation High speed clock distribution and correction circuits Custom Digital circuits for data serialisation High-speed wired channel termination and driver circuits The successful candidate will work with a world class team in the development of SerDes solutions to facilitate the future connectivity of AMD CPU , GPU and FPGA products. THE ROLE: The role requires the development of high-speed and high-performance analog circuits at the lowest power possible. The candidate would be expected to have extensive experience in the design and verification of analog circuits and systems, and be familiar with layout floor-planning, layout dependent effects and post-layout verification. THE PERSON: You have a passion for high speed analog circuit design and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Analog circuit design of different circuits related to SerDes phy development to meet block level design specifications Verification of circuit designs to ensure functional, performance and reliability targets are achieved using industry standard tools and methodologies. Regular presentation and sharing of design progress to peers Participating in design reviews of other circuits both for identifying potential issues and also from a learning perspective. Communication with SerDes circuit team members at other sites for the purposes of sharing ideas. Feading back circuit performance information to the architecture team for the purposes of system modelling. Support of the system level verification team in the modelling of analog circuits in Verilog and in the debug of identified issues Assist with silicon bring up and debug. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Good analog circuit design and analysis skills Experience with industry standard schematic entry and circuit simulation tools and methodologies Good programming / scripting skills Familiarity with the impact of layout effects on circuit design Experience with circuit floorplanning. Previous experience on high speed circuit design would be a benefit.
