  • Senior Group Accountant - Wicklow

    I am partnering with a growing international distribution business looking to hire a Senior Qualified Accountant for their finance team. This a newly created role due to a recent company acquisition and will suit someone with 3 to 5 years PQE who enjoys working in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment and wants to build out their experience in a scaling business. The role will involve strong exposure to month-end, management reporting, budgeting, and multi-currency accounting across a group environment. Youll be involved in everything from balance sheet recs and FX revaluations to audit support and VAT across multiple jurisdictions. Responsibilities: Corporate Reporting and Month-End Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs Assist with corporate and group reporting, including reconciliations, journals, and variance analysis Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations Post journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and foreign exchange revaluations Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including analysis of budget versus actual performance Monitor and analyse company margins, supporting management reporting, budgeting, and commercial decision-making. Statutory Reporting and Audit Support Assist with the preparation of Irish statutory financial statements Prepare audit files and supporting schedules Respond to auditor queries and assist during audit fieldwork Work within ERP systems, including Sage 200 and JD Edwards to maintain accurate financial records Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations Assist with distribution-related accounting, including inventory and cost of sales Maintain strong financial controls and ensure data integrity across systems Support stock control activities, including monitoring stock levels and ensuring inventory records are accurate and aligned with business requirements. Multi-Currency and VAT Account for multi-currency transactions and month-end FX revaluations Support VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including Ireland, United Kingdom and EU VAT Assist with VAT reconciliations and maintenance of supporting documentation Qualifications & Experience: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Minimum of 35 years post-qualification experience Understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting fundamentals Experience in a distribution, trading or FMCG business Exposure to multi-entity or group environments Experience using ERP systems, particularly Sage 200 and/or JD Edwards Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work to deadlines, particularly in a month-end environment Well organised with good time-management skills Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse financial data Proactive, reliable, and able to work effectively as part of a team Skills: Month End Accounting Group Accounting Financial Management

This is a great opportunity to join a well-established payroll team, managing multiple client payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly cycles. Youll be working in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on accuracy, compliance, and client relationship management. You will need solid end-to-end payroll administration experience, strong knowledge of PAYE, PRSI, USC, and Revenue processes, along with the ability to handle multiple deadlines confidently.
