Our team is growing, and we are looking for a driven, organised, and ambitious Service Manager to join us on our journey. Role Overview This is a pivotal, high-impact role within our operations team. The Service Manager will oversee our field engineers, ensure seamless service delivery, and drive performance across operational, financial, and customer service targets. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to play a key part in the continued growth of a forward-thinking fire safety company. Key Responsibilities Operational & Team Management Plan, schedule, and manage daily activities of field engineers to ensure efficient service delivery. Manage the setup, administration, and maintenance of service contracts. Oversee job coordination including logistics, timelines, materials, and resource allocation. Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers, ensuring accountability and high performance. Ensure effective use of company IT systems, scheduling tools, and reporting platforms. Client & Supplier Management Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to deliver smooth, timely, and high-quality services. Review engineer reports and work dockets; issue quotes for remedials and follow-on works. Prepare proposals, quotations, job documentation, and follow up to secure approvals and POs. Performance, KPIs & Financial Targets Track, manage, and drive daily KPIs including service efficiency, job completion, compliance, and documentation accuracy. Achieve agreed sales, gross margin, and remedial conversion targets. Maintain control of operational costs, stock management, and supplier pricing. Provide clear reporting to senior management on performance metrics and operational improvements. Administrative & Compliance Maintain accurate records including POs, deadlines, stock levels, engineer performance, and job progress. Support senior management in continuous improvement, planning, and development of business processes. Carry out any additional duties required to ensure seamless service delivery and exceptional customer satisfaction. Skills & Experience Preferred (but not essential): Previous experience in service management, operations, or contract management within fire protection, facilities, or technical services. Experience with stock management, procurement, or supplier coordination. Required: Strong organisational and planning abilities; able to manage competing deadlines and complex schedules. Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of motivating and managing a field-based team. IT literate with confidence using service management, CRM, and reporting systems. Results-driven mindset with a proven ability (or clear potential) to achieve KPIs, sales targets, and operational goals. Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Proactive, committed, and able to take ownership of challenges and deliver effective solutions.
